We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorraine Kenlock and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorraine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was on a sabbatical from my career as an Information systems project manager. But I was never one to sit still. So when I decided to explore my creative side, my passion for creating lifetime experiences started on this journey.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business slogan has always been . “it is more than just food,” And it’s as simple as that. My business was born out of a desire to help people make the right dietary choices to improve their health. Even though I became the “celebrity private chef” in the Caribbean, that had never changed. Helping my clients to enjoy life while enjoying their healthy lifestyle choices is at the core. Seeing people seated at a table and the love, joy, and connection is priceless. I build relationships, and I never think I am turning tables. My clients and I create trust, and it makes all the difference. It’s more than just food to me. Easy? not at all, but the openness to be innovative, a willingness to take risks, to be willing to set the trend has been the key to my resilience; these last Ten (10) years, and will continue to be with me as a resettle in the DFW area. Be willing and ready to pivot is key to success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
On their first visit, well, I would enjoy showing them Grapevine. I am still learning and enjoying the experience. Recently I had a Saturday evening out at Hotel Vin, fantastic concept and the live music was beautiful. Of course, we would go shopping at North Park. Dinner or brunch at Paradiso, so much to do, but that would be a start.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Ten years ago, I read “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. It changed my life, and it’s a constant source of inspiration. I Have gifted it to many people. I own it on audible, and when the pandemic hit, and I was searching for yet again more inspiration, I must have listened to it every day for months.
