Meet Lauren Lewis | Lifestyle Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Giving up is never an option. When you find yourself at a point where nothing is working for you and you’re at a stand still, use that time to take a break and come up with an new approach. Sometimes our approach isn’t the correct one, so we need to pause so we can brainstorm and come up with a plan b. Sometimes you are closer to reaching your goal then you think, usually right when you are ready to throw in the towel. This is usually a test and a sign for you to know to keep pushing, you’re almost there.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m still learning to perfect my craft, but modeling is art. It’s telling a story through images and selling the designers pieces or creations. What sets me apart from others is that I’m willing to take risks and create content that people haven’t seen before, as well as recreate a vision already told and put a twist on it to make it mine. Stepping outside the box is necessary in fashion because it adds values to it. People get bored seeing the same thing, so you have to use your imagination. I got where I am today trusting the process, networking, and taking time to learn the business. I’m proud to be a Agency model signed to two local agencies and a multi published model. Along the way I ran into some bumps working with the wrong people that didn’t have my best interest, and photographers that weren’t helping my brand, but I found my way. Just knowing what kind of modeling I wanted to do, which is fashion, lifestyle, and commercial; I only focused on that and working with established professional people in the industry that could help me. You are your brand so you have to represent it well. As far as my brand, I’m getting more into commercials so hopefully you’ll see me on the big screen soon and doing campaigns as well as a few magazines from my print work. Look for Lauren the Model she coming full force.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I personally like to be pampered and so do my friends. If they come to the DFW area we are definitely going to have a good time. We would start the day off having brunch at Bread Winners, then going shopping at North Park Mall. Shopping makes me hungry so we’ll definitely have to grab some lunch, which in this case I’ll let her pick a place she always wanted to try here. After that we’ll wine down and go to spa castle to relax in the hot tub and get a massage. Dinner at a new restaurant like True Kitchen + Cocktails would be ideal after.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother Sharon Payton deserves a shoutout. She is so supportive and helps me with my kids at the drop of a dime so I can travel, do photoshoots, and runway shows. She doesn’t want me to give up my dream because I have children; she won’t allow that to stop me. She encourages me to keep going even when I feel like giving up and she believes in my dream. Modeling was her dream that she loved and gave up because of her children, so she’s making it her duty to make sure I don’t do the same thing and go all the way. I love you mommy and I’m so thankful for you.
