Meet Hannah Stanley: Wedding Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Stanley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think about risk as a chance to grow, learn and serve. For years I have thought about doing some sort of workshop or mentoring program, but I always came up with excuses not to. I finally launched my first mentoring program and I have to say I absolutely love it! Taking this risk with my career has made me become more confident in myself and being able to serve other photographers! I was nervous that people wouldn’t sign up, or the material wouldn’t be good enough, but I took the risk and launched it and I couldn’t be happier! I wanted to start this mentoring program because when I started out, I didn’t have anything like that and I had to learn a lot of things the hard way. Now, I am able to pass my knowledge on to other photographers and help them grow their business!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I absolutely love my job and wouldn’t trade it for the world! I take a certain amount of couples a year, in order to make sure everyone gets my full attention and help throughout the whole wedding process. I love creating that bond and relationship with my clients, from the beginning all the way until after their wedding! I am proud that I shot my first wedding with no experience, all by myself, at the age of 16. That did come with its challenges of being so young and having someone’s trust to shoot their once-in-a-lifetime, special day. I have grown so much throughout my career and make sure I come across as knowledgable and professional to my future clients. I have learned to be confident in my work. It is my job to educate my client in ways that will make their wedding day the best it can be! I love traveling and shooting destination weddings! I love capturing people in love, all over the world! If you ask me, I have the best job!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Dallas, Texas is such a fun city! I would take them to the roof top Nylo in downtown Dallas! It has an infinity pool and you can watch the sun set behind one of the best city skylines. This is also a special place for me because that’s where my husband proposed! I would them take them to the reunion tower for dinner as you slowly spin around to see all of Dallas!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has always supported me along with my close group of industry friends! They really pushed me to launch my mentorship and were super excited to hear the good news of my first launch! I wouldn’t have had the courage to do so without their support!
