We had the good fortune of connecting with Tarnesha Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tarnesha, how do you think about risk?
Three things come to mind when I think about risk. Number one: You either take the risk or lose the chance. Number two: Your mindset; Everything is a risk. Not doing anything is a risk. It’s up to you. Number three: Life is all about taking risks. If you never take a risk, you will never achieve your dreams.

Taking risks has been a big part of my life and helping me step out of my shell. I am such a shy person but at the same time, I realize that my life purpose is much bigger than myself. The purpose of your life gift is to share it. I would be stingy not to share what I was put on this earth to do. My motto is to do something every year that scares me. Do something that will challenge me and help think outside of my shell and outside of the box. Taking risks in life and career has helped move me to the next level of self-development or progressing in my business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have taken this on in life to push and open my businesses Tarr Boutique and C.R.O.W.N Tarr. I started designing accessories. I took the risk to share what means so much to me with the world. I was always fascinated with jewelry and sparkle. I felt that it was the cherry on top of my ice cream. Or the icing on the cake. I thought of accessories as you would think of having confidence. Your accessories enhance the beauty of your outfit. I believe that your confidence enhances you as a person. Having confidence improves your mood. I found the courage to share with women how jewelry makes me feel when I wear it. When you look great you feel better! Which in turn intensifies your confidence. When I discovered that a lot of women have the same struggles that I have been faced with in life, I knew that creating C.R.O.W.N Tarr would be the perfect platform to share more of my story and motivate women to be the best version of themselves. C.R.O.W.N stands for the Confident Reflection Of Women Now.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Despite being on quarantine lockdown. DFW has so many hot spots to visit. I LOVE food but my favorite at the moment is Uncle Julio’s. We will definitely stack up on chips (salsa and queso) over a swirl margarita. The next day, we will catch up over shopping at the Galleria Mall. For dinner, we will visit Kobe’s Steakhouse, THE best hibachi restaurant in my opinion. On the third day, I would take my best friend to Downtown Dallas. We would visit the Dallas Museum in the Arts District, my old school Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and go to Klyde Warren Park for a bite to eat. The next day we would visit South Dallas to go to the African American Museum then choose any one of the bars in the Bishop Arts District. There are tons of local restaurants in the area to choose from. The next day, we will have brunch at Main Street Diner in Lewisville, TX and then drive back downtown to partake Deep Ellum nightlife.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest supporters deserve all of the credit. I am a firm believer in being mindful of who you surround yourself with. You become a version of the top 10 people you are around the most. My fiance, my parents, my siblings, my aunt, my grandmother, and three best friends are some of my biggest motivators and supporters. They keep me grounded and give me the push that I need to be the best version of myself.
