We had the good fortune of connecting with Carol Tune and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carol, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to do something that challenged me, but also made my heart come alive. Helping people find their voice, find healing, and creating content do all those things for me. Coming up with new content challenges me, and helping people makes my heart come alive; watching some one els’es dream come to life and knowing that you helped them just makes me so happy.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a woman of many talents, you could say that I don’t ever just wear one hat but many it just depends on the moment and what hat I need to wear for that moment. I am a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, blogger, content creator, writer, singer, model, and so many more. What makes me stand out is that my content doesn’t just fit in one niche but in many really, hitting all aspects of life. It took me forever to get to the point of not trying to tie myself down to a niche, but once I realized that my brand is my life story then I realized that there are several areas that I’ve struggled and grown in over the years and wish to share how it felt to go through those times and how I made it out stronger. It has never been an easy process to get to where I am today, but I will say that constancy, discipline, and having support from those I love helps tremendously; there will be days that you want to give up and throw in the towel because you don’t see anything happening but just keep going. The biggest lesson I have learned along the way is that it’s okay to take breaks, it actually is the healthiest to step away for a couple of days and then come back refreshed. Another big lesson I’ve learned is to not compare my journey to anyone else’s; social media highlights everyones perfect picture moments but not very many so the struggle, tears, sweat, and hard times. You do you boo boo in whatever way that looks for you. You success will not happen in the same way as someone else’s and you might surpass them in different ways. Remember that even everyone is brave or strong enough to take the road less traveled but it makes all the difference.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would say a trip to the stockyards is a must, there are a ton of cute little shops down there to get great unique gifts you will never find anywhere else. I would also say a trip to old town grapevine is a must there is a little cafe on main street that has the best oatmilk lattes and pastries, and shopping there is great. Also there is another coffee shop out in the middle of argyle, a little whole in the wall type place but the building looks like it’s straight out of a fairy tale and the coffee there is great. Another place I would say is a must is the Dallas aquarium, and even the Fort Worth both have great experiences. If shopping is your thing. I would say visiting Tanger outlets is a must, never know what deals you might find while walking around. And to end the trip I would say a sunset dinner, grab take out from either Los Molcajetes, or Cheesecake Factory depending on what your mood is; then find a hill or grassy area and watch the sunset while you eat; Texas sunsets are by far my favorite.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friends who have literally become my family. Without them I would have never pushed myself to pursue my dreams, but also because they push me to deepen my relationship with God. And with out God I wouldn’t have the gifts talents that I have or the grace to accomplish the things I accomplish. My brother all the time when I thank him for being such a good older brother he says “I just work here” meaning that it’s not him but God in him that does it all; the same goes for me. When people tell me that my story or the things I share helps them, I tell them it’s not me but God who spoke through me, telling me what to share.
