We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse James Leyva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesse James, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal and vision is to change and impact as many lives as possible. I am doing that through franchising our Outlaw FitCamp brand of boutique fitness studios. The goal is to keep our standards extremely high and make sure our “leave no client behind” mentality holds true at all locations. That means we go above and beyond for all of our customers, overweight, battling depression and self esteem issues to former athletes and people looking to add muscle and fine tune their physique. By the end of my career I would like to know my brand changed lives, for not only the customers but of the people who invested and opened a franchise. They opened a business that helps people and that’s big.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is about helping people and providing a solution for them in the fitness, mindset space. What sets us apart is that we have developed the first of its kind personalized group fitness model that far sets us a part from all of our competition. Now we compliment that by taking the customer experience portion to the next level by helping our customers find not only that “fit person” they’ve been looking for, but that new person that wants more out of life as well. Getting to where I’m at has NOT been easy. I’ve been broke twice, lost my home, vehicle, divorced and slept in my car to be where I’m at today. I can tell you right now, it was all worth it! Painful memories, but it was what was planed for me and my life. These were the steps that I personally had to go through to build and appreciate what I have now, it all taught me to “Stay True” to my beliefs and not forget where I came from or the dream that I have. I learned through my struggles and hardship, that when the water gets deep, swim like a motherF’er and never quit! What I’ve learned along the way that first comes to mind is that there are a lot of leaches/vampires out there and they will surround you as you build your empire, trying to suck the life out of you and stab you in the back at first chance. That’s just a part of success and you need to have thick skin and just understand that’s its just a a part of the process, and try to learn from those circumstances and avoid repeating those friendship situations. The takeaway from this story. No matter the cards you were dealt in life, they will never dictate the outcome of your life. Only you have that power, not anyone or anything. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting from out of town, I would love to bring them out to our RV at a cool spot at one of the lakes in DFW for the day. We would start the day by hitting a great workout at Outlaw FitCamp, then finish that with lunch at Mi Dia from scratch and enjoy some seabass tacos. Then a little bit later go hit some mountain biking on some of the cools trails locally, then go have a cold beer and lunch at Local Pint, an awesome local watering hole in Flower Mound. We would then later in the evening catch up with family and or friends at the RV/campsite and enjoy the night with great people over a few glasses of wine and campfire. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many that deserve recognition that have had a major part of my so called “success”. My wife, Tiffany would be one of them first to list off. She has been behind me 100% from the beginning, believing in my ideas and trusting the idea and process. Without that support, this journey is even harder and sometimes short-lived. The next would be my business partners that have supported this idea and have backed me unconditionally. Last on the list would be the book “The 10x Rule”, by Grant Cardone. This book and Grant himself have complimented my crazy drive and reassured me that’s its ok to be obsessed with quality, and it has helped me understand that I’m not a prick for wanting things done a certain way. Now I just remove myself from the people who want and expect less and I stay focused on the goal ahead.
