We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I consider the most important factor behind my success and that of my brand, is the unique training in steam-based nail care services.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is Just Breathe Nail Studio. I chose this name because I have a habit of telling people to “just breathe” when they are stressed or feeling out of sorts. I like people to find the calm, the zen within themselves. In my business I have chosen a cleaner, healthier option for nail care services. This technique is what I was trained to do and ultimately perfected when I first started my career. All manicure and pedicure services are steam-based. I use products that are vegan/organic/cruelty free. Most are made in the US, some even from Texas! And, I have polish that dries in five minutes. Getting to this place in business had its challenges. My unique business offering was not something people were familiar with. But ultimately, a few good reviews put me on the map! I love what I do. I take pride in the fact that I educate and take time to listen and answer questions. And at the end of the service, my guest walks out feeling the calm and zen…with happy feet and pretty polish.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend did in fact visit from CA! We had fun going to The Fort Worth Stockyards, Southlake Townsquare, we drove thru some of the beautiful neighborhoods in Grapevine, Colleyville, Southlake, Keller and North Richland Hills. We ate at Del Frisco’s Grille, got silly in the candy store at the Stockyards. Introduced her to the Buckle. But, the best place to take visitors to get that shock and ahh response, Buc-ees!!! 2 hours and endless laughter. If we had more time, I would have planned a Grapevine Food and Wine Tour, Wildwood for Dragon Dip and Sundance Square. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My hugest Shoutout in this journey would be my husband, Brett. When I decided to go back to school and reinvent myself, he said, “Go! If this is what you want to do, I support you.” When we moved from CA to TX, he said, “Open your own space and work for yourself. I support you.” I have met some great ladies on this path to successful business ownership and have had so much support and belief in the services I provide. Most of them I met through networking at FAB (Females Advancing Business). I love the friendships I have made and look forward to seeing their beautiful faces. My children for sacrificing “mom” time in the early days. And of course, my mom. She’s always in my corner making suggestions and giving advice.
