We had the good fortune of connecting with Shenika Theus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shenika, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
What makes me happy is giving and serving. Why I do it is because I love to see people smile when I exceed their expectations.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is, I am One Brand with multiple businesses. I am most proud of the Precious Handz Foundation, because I am serving the least of these. The people that most people have forgotten about. I got to where I am because of prayer and people believing in me. When I was terminated from my job June 30th, 2019 due to me taking care of my Mother, I had nothing to fall back on, So many people heard about me and wanted to help. There was nothing easy about the process. I still had to figure out a way to provide for myself and fund my business. I drove for Uber Eats and that helped out a lot. The lessons that I have learned along the way are, be open to new ideas, give and it shall be given to you, and keep money in a savings account. This is what I want the world to know about my brand. I started the first company Precious Handz Foundation in 2012. It’s an organization that specializes in charity work. I am the liaison between volunteers and the charity. I support all charities that need any type of help year-round. I started the second company Precious Handz Cleaning Service also in 2012. It’s a cleaning service for the elderly and disabled people. It was created during a time when I was delivering for Meals On Wheels. It would break my heart every time that I would deliver the meals and the odors that would emerge from their homes when they opened the doors. I know that most of them could not afford a regular cleaning service, so that’s where I come in. I would charge them $50.00 monthly to clean for them twice a month. I was doing that until I was involved in a car accident and was unable to continue. My children were not old enough to continue the business, therefore I had to let it go. In 2016 I was laid off from my job and I needed extra income. I love accessories and one for my friends suggested that I become an Independent Consultant for Paparazzi Accessories. In turn, that became the third business for me. One day I was asked to make Jello Shots and I had no idea how to make Jello at all. It took my cousin, my daughter and myself to figure it out and BOOM it happened. In June of 2019, I turned a hobby into a business idea which made business number four. Selling Jello Shots is the best thing I have going at the moment. For almost the past three years, I have been the Brand Ambassador for Krab Kingz 7 Restaurant in Richardson, Tx and Krab Kingz Desoto in Desoto. Tx. I make sure that I bring all positive attention to the customers for both of these restaurants.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my Mother Ginger D. Theus, she is my support system. Even though she has lupus she still does what she can for me. My daughter Tej’Anea Theus-George and my son Tommy George III, they both keep me up to date with the latest things that can help me bring the younger crowd in to explore my brand. My boss but more importantly my friend, William Stewart. The owner of Krab Kingz7 located in Richardson, TX & Krab Kingz Desoto located in Desoto, TX. He keeps me on my toes and leads me down the correct path when I dive in deeper in this owning your own business thing. Not only is he the boss, he is also a worker. I have seen him cook, take and deliver customer orders. You not only work for him, but he works side by side with you. Nikita Jackson Collins the owner of Absolutely Edible Cakes and the Home of the Sweet Potato Thang. This lady is so loving, caring, giving, and a comedian. I watched how hard she worked during the pandemic and it made me step my game up. Her business took a huge loss, but she did not let that affect her giving spirit. She held a 24 hour cake-a-thon to assist small businesses like hers that did not qualify for any assistance during this time of need. She gave even when she did not have it to give. Known to the world as Kevin R. Smith, retired cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, but known to me as Kevin “Pup” Smith or Pup of Tacos Patron in Addison, TX. He has been my saving grace throughout this whole pandemic and I will be forever grateful. My Pastor Frederick D. Haynes of Friendship-West Baptist Church, he is a soldier for the community. I watch him fight battles that are not he’s. I watch him fight for justice for people that can not fight for themselves. He is equipping changed people to change the world. Last but not least. My best friend since second grade, Shemeka Harris of Houston, TX. She is my brand Creative Director, no matter what I have going on. She is always right there to assist me. She has a talent for having great ideas and turning them into a vision.
