We had the good fortune of connecting with Hellrayza Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hellrayza, what’s the most important think you’ve done for your children?
I am a proud father of 3 well mannered children. I have taught them many things but I feel the most important thing I have taught them was to always be theirselves. Not only do I teach them things, they teach me things as well and we have an incredible bond. I think my impact on their lives will continue to increase with every moment spent. All of them have multiple talents they are pursuing because I encourage them to do things that make them happy, and what makes you happy you’re typically good at it if you put the necessary time in to perfect that craft.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have gotten a lot farther than most would have thought I would when I first started out and that goes to show if you stick with something anything is possible. I can’t say that it was easy because trust me it’s not, I’ve had to deal with little to no support, a lot of no’s, and people talking down on me. I had to dig deep and continue doing what I loved to overcome all of this and grateful for the experience. I’m my own person, what I mean by this is simple, I’m different, most people choose to only listen to familiar music because they are tired of giving people music a chance and it sounds like the last 10 songs they heard. I make music I wanna hear and paint my story and that separates me from the rest. I don’t follow trends and I definitely don’t try to sound like the “hot now” artist. If you give my music a shot, I promise there’s something you could take away from it that makes you wanna check out some more. Whether it’s the sneaky punchlines here and there, the story telling, or the originalness shown you definitely will have your head bobbing and as I like to say I consider my music “shower music” because you will catch yourself singing it in the shower. 😑🤪🤘🏽🤌🏾
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a home body when I’m not doing something music related. If my friends come through I would more than likely take them to the highlands. It’s sort of a outlet with different restaurants and stores. Most of the restaurants have an open balcony where you could chill and relax in an upscale area.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout-out all of my supporters not to single anyone out. They all have helped me without even knowing they were helping. I have a real solid team behind me as well and just wanna say I love you all and 2021 is our year. #BlessedUp #TeamJones
