We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Pearson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I tried many different jobs & career paths over the years while growing my family (5 children ages 3-11). We choose Homeschooling for their education and it was difficult to balance working for others and being the mother I needed/wanted to be. Once day it just clicked, I should just work for myself to get my own schedule to work around my family life & lean into my passions.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I really enjoy working with families! My biggest dream as a child was to be a mother, and getting to be around other Moms is such a blessing to me. I’ve had to overcome a lot of imposter syndrome to be able to show up for families in the way that I do. Moms are always second guessing ourselves. One of my largest obstacles I faced was thinking I had to choose between being a creative and being a structured/organized person. Both can exist together in harmony! I love working with families and getting to watch them become THEM. Watching the parents and kids step more into themselves and out of the worlds expectations of them is the most beautiful thing I’ve witnessed in my lifetime so far.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite place to be is at the park or on a nature trail. We frequent Keller Town Hall area which has a variety of options to choose from. We may bring our hammocks to set up by the lake and kick around a soccer ball in the field, ride our bikes around the paved path, or go beyond the tall grass field to the trails and explore! We are working towards our yearly goal of 1000 hours outside and exploring most of the parks in our area before the year ends. For myself, I enjoy visiting the coffee shops. Axiom, Kindred, and Summer Moon are a few of my favorites. I can get a little bit of work done, meet with a friend, or listen to a PodCast.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Seth! He has always been my greatest hype man. Believing in me when I doubted my abilities, calling out my identity when I started to get lost and overwhelmed. Without his support and full dedication to our family, I could not keep all the plates spinning.
