We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonette Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonette, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success would be taking risks and sacrificing. I have sacrificed so much to get where I am today. I’ve sacrificed sleep, friends, relationships, outings and so much more. I’ve noticed that if you truly want to be successful, you have to give up alot to gain more. Social gatherings and weekends are limited. Staying focused 24/7 without any distractions can be challenging for most. Especially with social media and technology. Deciding where to spend your funds can go along way. Would you rather spend on things that make you happy for the moment… or spend on things that can help you survive throughout your lifetime. We hear it all the time… you must sacrifice to gain… What exactly are we sacrificing? The things that hold us back and the things that slow us down.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
More about our business, we manufacture Home Decor products and much more. It started with pillows and ventured into full time manufacturing. We provide unique and customized Home Decor, clothing, jewelry, books and more. Our mission is to help the community whilst giving many small and upcoming businesses products and services at an affordable rate to help their companies grow. We know how important it is to call something your own and alot of challenges are funds for most. We want to help anyone with a dream, build that dream without all the hoops and outrageous costs.

I am where I am today because I made alot of sacrifices most people aren’t willing to do. I gave up friends, family, social media, TV, outings, and weekends. I mean I’m not a robot, I do take a few vacations throughout the year… I just work nonstop.
I’m not going to lie, it’s very stressful. Staying focused 24/7. I go days working 52 hours straight sometimes. You have to have the drive and motivation. I tell people all the time, with 3 kids… I make it look easy… but it’s far from it. You have to know how to manage and take risks, pay attention to the economy and society and see what it is people what and need and what you can do to help all while still generating revenue. But you have to be OK with losing. We don’t always start off how we want. You have to have a backup when all else fails. You can’t give up, you have to keep that motivation that started it all. I overcame my challenges by pushing harder. My children were/are my strength to push harder. I never want my children to experience the life I lived and that enough made me who I am today. Hard-working, stern and persistent. I personally believe those key qualities are much needed to get far in this lifetime.

I’ve learned that if you want things done… you’ll have to do them yourself.

I want the world to know… that I’m just a normal girl, with big dreams like everyone else.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of the most fun things I would do in the city would be hanging out in Uptown or near Cedar Springs. I personally enjoy more outings on the lake or at the Marina. I’m very outdoorsy, so anywhere in nature or at a state park would be best fitting. Hit up quaint Vineyards in Hill Country.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My children are the reason for it all. I want to give a shoutout to my eldest, she is 14 years of age and running our company alongside me. She is very talented! She is a writer, designer and learning more skills to help run our home decor store and many other projects.
