We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Enriquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always loved desserts. Growing up, sweets were few and far between, so they always felt special. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to do something that let me express my artistic side while also spreading joy—because I truly believe food is a love language.
My family didn’t have much when I was young; we were a low-income household. But my mother had a way of creating magic out of very little, and that inspired me. I hope to bring that same sense of joy and possibility to others.
I take pride in offering competitive pricing, and I do my best to support those who want to create their own “magic moments” but may be limited by finances. Making beautiful, meaningful desserts accessible to everyone is at the heart of what I do.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As I mentioned before, I’m not in this for financial gain. Of course, the extra income helps, but my true passion is creating something special for someone’s important moment. I would rather take a loss and help make a celebration wonderful than focus solely on profit.
I’m still fairly small compared to other bakers in my area, but word of mouth has carried me far, and I use social media to help get my work out there.
Balancing everything can be a challenge—I’m a teacher, a mother of three, and a full-time student at MSU. Thankfully, I’ve always been very detail-oriented and rely on routines and schedules to keep everything on track.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that I am my own worst critic. I’m a perfectionist and can spot every little hiccup, but every order I’ve fulfilled has been met with joy and appreciation.
My only real goal is to leave a meaningful mark on the world—if I can make a four-year-old a birthday cake she remembers for a lifetime, that’s all I need.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I don’t get out much—my schedule is usually pretty full—but when I do, I like to spend time with family and friends. Most of my friends have children, so the kids all play together while we catch up. We have a cute local bowling alley, and if you enjoy line dancing, Lonestar is definitely the place to go!
If you’re an outdoors person like I am, we can always explore the local trails or take a short trip to the Wichita Mountains. As for food, you won’t find five-star dining here, but we do have a few great spots that are worth a visit

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has always been my greatest support, but my children are truly my light. After my divorce, I was determined to make sure we never fell behind and that my children would never go without. I want them to grow up knowing that where there is a will, there is always a way.
I also give all glory to our Lord above. I believe He has given me the strength and drive to keep going. In the moments when I felt overwhelmed or afraid of failing, He provided me with perseverance, determination, strength, and new opportunities.
