We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamika Johnson, LPC and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamika, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
Thank you for this opportunity. Regarding the questionnaire, I’d like to share what I believe is the most important thing I’ve done as a parent that impacts my children.

As a mother to three biological children and two bonus children, I believe the most significant impact I’ve had on their lives is being an example of a woman of faith. My children have witnessed me actively pursuing my goals and dreams, navigating and overcoming obstacles along the way. They’ve seen firsthand my commitment to changing aspects of my life that I wasn’t satisfied with by actively working towards what I desired. I hope that by seeing me live this way, they learn the importance of perseverance, self-advocacy, and faith in their own lives.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Founded in 2021, Positive Changes Counseling and Consulting Services is dedicated to providing behavioral health services to individuals and families. Our mission is to empower individuals and organizations to foster positive change through personalized counseling, workshops, and community outreach.

What Sets Us Apart
At Positive Changes Counseling and Consulting Services, we strive to remove every barrier to services turning no family away due to their inability to pay. Personalized Approach: We believe in tailoring our services to meet the unique needs of each client. Our counselors take the time to understand individual circumstances, ensuring that our strategies are effective and relevant.
The journey to establishing Positive Changes was not without its challenges. Initially, we faced hurdles such as:
Building a Client Base: Attracting clients in a competitive market required extensive networking and community engagement.
Navigating Regulations: Understanding and complying with healthcare regulations took time and effort, but it was crucial for establishing credibility. The lessons I learned along the way is that you have to have a team. Delegate task and trust that other people are capable of seeing your vision.
We want the world to know that Positive Changes Counseling and Consulting Services is more than just a business; it’s a movement towards mental wellness and community support. Our story is one of passion, perseverance, and a commitment to making a difference. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health support, and we are here to provide that with compassion and expertise.
