Meet Dr. Xavier Cooper | Chiropractor & Mental Health Advocate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Xavier Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Xavier, how do you think about risk?
I’ve known risk taking since my earliest days in the foster care. I realized early on that if anything was going to change in my life, I had to be the one to change it. Throughout my youth, I had to intentionally mold myself into something I could believe in. Not because it was easy, but because the alternative was staying stuck in cycles I didn’t want to repeat.
There were countless failures along the way. Any one of them could have been the reason I gave up. Instead, they became the reasons I kept pushing. I learned to see failure not as a sign I didn’t belong, but as proof that I was still growing. I believe risk is a necessity for growth. Sometimes, the biggest risks aren’t the ones we plan or calculate. They’re the ones that happen inside of us.
For me, risk has often meant confronting the negative thought patterns formed in childhood. When you grow up surrounded by instability, doubt, or setbacks, it’s easy to let those experiences build a cage over your mind. You start to believe it’s safer to play small. But the real risk was choosing to let those fears define me which I always choose to pivot. I faced years of intense schooling, financial pressure, and constant uncertainty. But it aligned with something deeper in me, a calling to heal and serve after experiencing much lose in my life and almost losing my own life. Ultimately let lead me to pursue chiropractic, this was one of those internal leaps. It wasn’t the easy route.
After graduation, I worked for three years under someone else’s vision. That season helped me sharpen my skills and gain experience, but over time I felt something stirring in me, a sense that I was being called to more. I reached a crossroads. Either continue building someone else’s dream or finally take ownership of the one I had carried inside me for years. So, I decided to break away to pursue my vision which meant walking away from stability and stepping into the unknown. But that risk led to the birth of Prolific Chiropractic, a vision rooted in my personal journey, shaped by my values, and driven by purpose. It wasn’t just a business move; it was a spiritual and emotional leap.
From there, I kept saying yes to growth. I expanded into animal chiropractic and embraced opportunities that pulled me outside my comfort zone. Mission trips to Peru and Jamaica, relocating to new cities, and co-creating men’s healing workshops each came with uncertainty. But every step helped refine who I was becoming.
Through it all I learned that every risk I’ve taken, internal or external, has shaped not just my career but the man I’ve will continue to become. With every blessing I’ve received, the patients I’ve helped, the lives I’ve touched and the communities I’ve poured into came because I chose to believe that my past didn’t define my future. I’m grateful for every part of the journey, especially the hard parts, because they helped build the foundation that I stand on today. Seek the unknown!

What should our readers know about your business?
Prolific Chiropractic is more than just a business, it’s a mission to help people live better, healthier lives through chiropractic care that’s personalized, compassionate, and results driven. What sets us apart is our dedication to seeing each patient as a whole person, not just a symptom. Whether it’s helping someone recover from an injury, manage chronic pain, or enhance overall wellness, we focus educating our patients, and delivering care that truly transforms lives.
I’m most proud of the community we’ve built. Seeing patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and return to the activities they love is incredibly rewarding. Beyond that, I’m proud that Prolific Chiropractic carries forward the legacy of my late father. Reminding me daily of the importance of perseverance, passion, and giving back.
Getting here was far from easy. My journey started in a turbulent childhood, navigating foster care and instability, and later overcoming a life-changing accident. Each challenge could have been a stopping point, but I leaned on the people who believed in me, the mentors who guided me, and the drive to turn adversity into opportunity. Through it all, I learned the importance of resilience, patience, and relentless focus on growth both personal and professional.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is that success isn’t a solo journey. It’s built on the support, love, and guidance of others; family, mentors, friends, and even the patients who trust you with their care. That understanding shapes everything we do at Prolific Chiropractic.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is this: Prolific Chiropractic is about more than adjustments and treatments. It’s about empowering people to live their best lives, rising above obstacles, and showing that with support, knowledge, and determination, anything is possible. Our story is one of resilience, love, and service, and that’s the foundation of everything we do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
f my best friend were visiting Dallas for a week, I’d start by showing them the heart of the city. We’d kick things off with breakfast at Yolk to fuel up, then explore Klyde Warren Park and the Dallas Museum of Art, wandering through the Arts District and checking out local galleries. That evening, we’d enjoy dinner at Savor for some elevated Texas cuisine and wrap up the night with cocktails and skyline views at The Statler’s Waterproof Rooftop Bar. The next day would dive into Dallas history, starting at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, followed by lunch at Ellen’s and a stroll through the Dallas Farmers Market. We’d finish the evening with fine dining at The French Room and maybe catch a show at the AT&T Performing Arts Center or a local jazz club.
Midweek, I’d take my friend to experience the quirky and vibrant sides of Dallas. Brunch at Bread Winners Café & Bakery would start the day, then we’d explore the Bishop Arts District, popping into shops, murals, and local boutiques, with a quick snack at Lockhart Smokehouse. Evening plans could include comedy at Backdoor Comedy Club or craft cocktails at Midnight Rambler. For some outdoor adventure, we’d paddleboard or kayak on White Rock Lake, grab lunch at Hattie’s, and stroll through the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Dinner would be classic Texas BBQ at Pecan Lodge, followed by relaxing drinks at HG Sply Co. rooftop bar.
Later in the week, we’d explore Dallas neighborhoods, starting with breakfast at The Biscuit Bar in Uptown, a stroll through Highland Park Village, and lunch at Velvet Taco while hunting for murals and photo ops. Dinner at Katy Trail Ice House would cap the night with casual vibes and great people-watching. For a sports-focused day, we could attend a Cowboys or Mavericks game or tour AT&T Stadium, followed by lunch at The Rustic and sunset drinks at HG Sply Co., finishing with an exceptional dinner at Tei-An for Japanese cuisine. Finally, we’d wrap the week with brunch at Bread & Butter Social House, a stroll around White Rock Lake or Trinity Groves, some last-minute shopping or exploring Deep Ellum, and a farewell drink at Parliament, reflecting on all the memories made.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I truly believe life experiences are a greater teacher than any book or movie could ever be. First, I want to give deep, heartfelt thanks to our Almighty God for never giving up on me and for placing incredible people in my life, my mother Pamela, my brother Leo, my sisters Tina and Jasmine, and my nephews and nieces.
I want to give a special, heartfelt shoutout to my mother, Pamela. Without her, I don’t know where I would be. She fought for me, guided me, and never let me get lost in the foster care system. Her love, support, and belief in me gave me the chance to rise above chaos and create a life for myself. She showed me what true strength and perseverance look like, and because of her, I’ve been able to build the foundation for who I am today.
I also want to honor my late Uncle Marv, my grandpa, and my dad; their love and support shaped me in ways I can’t fully express. To all my teachers, mentors, friends, family, and chiropractic colleagues who believed in me, poured knowledge into me, and lifted me up along the way, thank you. A special thank you to my mentor, Dr. Don, whose guidance has been pivotal in my journey.
Every step of my life, through challenges, growth, and success has been shaped by incredible people. I am who I am because of all of you, and I dedicate this shoutout as a tribute to your love, belief, and impact.
