Hi Krystal, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The Vision Behind DJ Kodak Entertainment
The inspiration behind starting DJ Kodak Entertainment came from a desire to create unforgettable experiences through the power of music and live entertainment. From the beginning, my goal has been to offer a professional and reliable service that caters to audiences of all ages and event types, from birthdays and weddings to corporate events and community gatherings.
At DJ Kodak Entertainment, it’s not just about playing music; it’s about setting the tone, creating the atmosphere, and helping people make lasting memories. I recognized that many clients were looking for more than just someone to press play—they wanted a skilled entertainer who understands how to read the crowd, manage the energy of the event, and deliver high-quality sound and music tailored to their vision.
Quality, professionalism, and client satisfaction are at the core of everything we do. From our top-tier sound systems to carefully curated playlists, every detail is designed to elevate the event experience.
Looking ahead, DJ Kodak Entertainment is set to become a one-stop shop for all event service needs. Our long-term goal is to expand beyond music and DJ services to include event planning, lighting, photo booths, décor, and more. We want to be the go-to solution for anyone looking to host a memorable event with seamless coordination and top-notch service.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Behavioral and Political Science in 2007. Wanting to expand my knowledge in business and leadership, I went on to complete my Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Human Resource Management.

In October 2018, I joined GM Financial as part of the Account Services department, and through dedication and performance, I was promoted to the Consumer Service department, where I currently serve as a Servicing Operations Support Analyst.

Throughout my time at GM Financial, I’ve achieved several professional certifications, including:

Business Process Management Certification
Six Sigma Yellow Belt
Six Sigma Green Belt

In addition to my core responsibilities, I also contribute to the company culture as a GM Financial Corporate Event DJ, providing music and entertainment for internal events as needed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite ways to unwind is by exploring all that Dallas has to offer with my best friend. Whether we’re taking a trip up to The Star in Frisco to soak in the Dallas Cowboys experience, enjoying brunch at trendy local spots, or dressing up for a night of fine dining, every outing is an adventure.
We love catching live music concerts, discovering new artists, and vibing to great sounds in unforgettable atmospheres. And when it’s time for some grown-up fun, we dive into adult-friendly spots that blend entertainment and activity—think rooftop lounges, game bars, and interactive experiences that keep the energy high and the memories unforgettable.
Every weekend is a chance to make new memories and enjoy the city in style!

I want to take a moment to recognize the people who have been instrumental in the journey of DJ Kodak Entertainment—starting with my family.

First, to my Dad, thank you for introducing me to the world of music. Your influence is the foundation of my passion, and I carry that with me every time I step behind the turntables.

To my Mom, your daily encouragement has been a driving force. You’ve always pushed me to be my best, even when the path wasn’t easy. Your belief in me has made a real difference.

And to my Sister, thank you for your unwavering support and for always being there with sound advice, especially when it comes to the financial side of running a business. Your guidance has helped DJ Kodak Entertainment grow with intention and stability.

I’m grateful for the role each of you has played. This journey hasn’t been without challenges, but having a strong support system makes all the difference. DJ Kodak Entertainment is not just my dream it’s a reflection of the love, support, and influence of the people who have stood by me from day one.
