We had the good fortune of connecting with Yelitza Vega- Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yelitza, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My first thought was, was I even ready? I’ve seen and heard horror stories. I’ve had friends fail and give up and I really didn’t know if I could handle that but I have such a huge support system that I knew even if it failed I could keep trying so I went for it! I’m fortunate enough to have people by my side that help drown out all the noise and allow me to focus.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One of the things I’m most proud of is the fact that I haven’t given up, 10 years is a long time and throughout all of that it has not been easy. I’ve worked for people that have tried to tear me down and prove that I’m not good enough and it’s truly messed with me mentally. Ive learned how resilient I am and I love sharing and connecting with others that have been through the same.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite places to go is Grandscape, there’s a variety of different things you can do there and I especially love their wine slushies at The Wine Bar. I love walking around and exploring different restaurants and trying the fun spots at least once.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Family. My Parents, Jose and Eunice Vega. My two older sisters, Cindy and Nelly Vega and my partner Josue Tomasino.
