Meet Eshaal Ubaid | Artist and entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eshaal Ubaid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eshaal, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always had a business-minded approach. As a child, I often came up with creative ways to make money, such as designing my own wishing cards or creating simple games for people to pay to play. My parents, who taught business management, supported my entrepreneurial ideas. Recently, I began exploring calligraphy and small paintings. Although I had never considered selling these creations before, my parents and close friends encouraged me to pursue this opportunity.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am not currently employed because I am a student in high school. I was a really broke immigrant student who could not easily obtain a work authorization thus I had to become creative. That is when I created a small business and it did great.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend was visiting my area I would definitely going to make a week long plan. So first day we are driving around I’m going to make her try different ice cream stores. And day two I am taking them to the mall with the ice skating rink. Then day three we are taking a trip around the area just driving maybe watching a movie and definitely getting smash burgers. Day four we will have a Netflix and chill day then day four we are trying out traditional restaurants that I love and going to another mall nearby. And then the rest of the two days I would divide between bowling, and cafe catchup sessions.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think the people who deserve the greatest shout out are my parents, friends and most importantly my art teacher Mr James Rosin (@jamesrosinart) because these were the people who inspired me to pursue this small business idea.
