We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsie Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsie, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from a small city called Kenner, La about 10 minutes outside of New Orleans. Growing up wasn’t too tough but it definitely paved the way for me to become the hardworking woman and business owner I am today. I made a promise to myself that I’d give my daughter the life I always wanted as a little girl. Being in a 3bd house full of people and not having your own space/room will definitely motivate you to want more in life. I started working at 15 just to have things I saw other kids/pre teens with that my mom couldn’t afford to provide for me. I worked non stop and kept my grades up graduating at #15 in my class. My younger self is definitely proud of me now because I never gave up.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a massage therapist I love what I do. Knowing that I provide a safe place for my clients to relax and be care free is truly a blessing. I love to give others a place to relax and detox from the world as we all know how chaotic life can get sometimes and to be able to provide them with a space that takes them away from the world for a moment is a gift within itself. I am proud of me for not giving up on my profession. 15 months of school with a toddler was tough but I pushed through. As humans we face so many challenges in life some good and some bad and when it’s all said and done our bodies pay the ultimate price and knowing that my services helps someone get back to themselves and helps with self care is a great feeling. Stepping into the massage world at first was scary not knowing if or when I’d be booked but that didn’t stop me I was too passionate about my work and it spoke for itself. Being in this profession and being able to control my own schedule being able to travel when I want being able to be there for my daughter any time she needs me is the thing I’m proud of most.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Now that I am officially a Dallas, Tx resident there’s so many places I love about this place and if you’re a nature girl like me and you love a good hike the Cedar Ridge Preserve is my favorite go to spots for a hike. I am now in my grown women era so brunching is my new thing between Breakfast Club 51 in Forth Worth Kitchen & Kocktsils down town Dallas I don’t know which one I enjoy more. Kitchen & Kocktails is such a vibe from the music to the food to the ambience. Stirr Addison is also one of my go to spots if you want that brunch day party vibe the music never disappoints neither does the food. You can never go wrong Sidecar Social Addison for your Saturday night vibe to watch any games or simply hang out for drinks food and fun. Juicys seafood is also at the top of my list for a good seafood restaurant and the prices are top tier. And if you love bowling Bowlero Dallas in Addison is definitely the spot.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest supporter goes to my daughter. She is the reason I couldn’t be lazy in life. She is my reason for pushing myself to my best potential. From the endless nights of me studying to coming to school with me and even sometimes being my practice partner. She held me to the highest standard of self love and I will forever remember the moments of being 21 and pregnant scared of where life would lead me. Not having a solid plan but knowing that there was a human being who needed me and being needed by someone who sees no wrong in you is truly amazing.
