Meet Brandon Compean | Contracting Company Owner & Real Estate Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Compean and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Every successful entrepreneur that I talked to would always tell me that they wish they started their business sooner. After leaving my last job instead of looking for another company, I thought to myself why don’t I just start my business now. If I fail at it, then I’m still young and could do something else, but if I succeed, then I successfully took the advice of other successful entrepreneurs.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Growing up in the Arlington/Mansfield area I became very familiar with going to sporting events nearby. You can’t go wrong with going to a Rangers game, a Cowboys game, or simply going to have a beer at Texas live. However, after living in Dallas near SMU and spending a lot of time in Fort Worth I would say it’s not a complete trip to this metroplex unless you go dancing and eating in the stockyards one day and over to Dallas for a few days to get some good food at Drake’s Hollywood steakhouse followed by some good drinks at Regines or somewhere in the uptown area. If the weather is good, I’m also a big fan of going to local lakes to hang out with friends or simply go fishing with family.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t say there’s a specific book or organization that would deserve the credit but my dad definitely did a great job of setting a good example and encouraging me when I had doubts. He was and is a very successful business owner. That was a firm believer in the doing and not the saying. Two of his famous sayings are you can cross that bridge when you get to it and always remember to work smarter not harder. Some people are too scared to start something when in reality once you get going sometimes your too busy to be scared.
