We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandro Terra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alejandro, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
As long as can remember I always wanted to be a musician. First I wanted to play drums but living in Cuba my family couldn’t buy me a drum set, so I began playing the guitar at the age of 10. Then around 15 years old, I began writing and singing my own songs. I performed in different places around my home city Santa Clara as a young singer-songwriter. Then I moved to Miami. I studied music business in MDC and began my professional career in 2019. From there on I have performed all around the USA and did a tour in Argentina. Now, I am a full time artist performer. As time passed I realized there is a big need in the modern world of pop music for meaningful and profound lyrics. Artists, with their voices, have the power to influence entire generations, and I want to use that power for the betterment and evolution of human consciousness! In 2021 I released my first album: “Desde el exilio” a conceptual album telling my journey as an emigrant. Since then I have released 8 singles and another album called: Intimo. A full acoustic album recorded live in the studio! Now I am working on new music with different producers from Texas and Miami.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My songs are the reflection of my life’s journey, feelings and world view. As a poet and singer I take pride in the lyrical content of my songs. The most exciting moments are always when I am on stage performing and connecting with the audience. My journey hasn’t been easy but that’s what makes it so much valuable to me. I have earned everything thru hard work, consistency and finding the help of those who believe in me. I have taken many risks and every obstacle and challenge in my career is to me a learning opportunity and I will continue to think so. It’s my mind set. I have learned many lessons, however, the most important is that you must have a vision with a goal, and you must focus and work as hard as you can to obtain or fulfill that goal. In other words, action is necessary to manifest that which you desire! Think it, plan it and then do it!
I want the world to know that my music is a healing tool, a shoulder to cry, a rhythm to dance and enjoy. It’s the food and medicine of my soul, and hopefully of yours too!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I usually like to visit places with outside yards. I am big fan of Viridian Biergarten, Woodshed smoke house in Fort Worth. I like the Dallas Farmers Market and the Bishop art district! I love the city of Grapevine and going around wineries there!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, my friends, and those who listen and support my art!
