Meet Sierra Robison | Esthetician & PMU Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sierra Robison and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sierra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to take a leap, for myself and others, by creating something meaningful that empowered people to feel confident in their skin. After spending over a decade in the fast-paced world of food and beverage,I realized I was pouring so much of my energy into a career that wasn’t truly fulfilling me. I craved something more purposeful—something that would allow me to genuinely help others feel good about themselves.
Having struggled with acne and body image growing up, I understood how skin issues could deeply affect one’s self-esteem. That experience inspired me to channel my passion into skincare and permanent makeup. Building Era Esthetics was about taking control of my future, transforming lives, and helping people see their own beauty and potential. It’s about making people feel seen, confident, and empowered every single day.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My journey to where I am today has been anything but easy, but it’s been so worth it. I came from the food and beverage industry, where I spent years bartending and cocktailing. It was fast-paced, creative, and social, but I craved something deeper—something where I could make a real difference in people’s lives. I took a leap, not just for myself but for others, to create something that felt fulfilling and impactful.
I’ve always been fascinated by beauty, skin, and fashion. That led me to attending Aveda for Esthetics in 2016; I even modeled for about eight years and worked as a makeup artist occasionally, which introduced me to so many inspiring creatives who have deeply influenced me along the way. Their passion and artistry pushed me to go after what I wanted and create my own space where I could thrive.
Era Esthetics was born out of that desire to provide something special—personalized treatments that help people feel amazing and empowered in their own skin. It’s about boosting confidence, restoring what’s been lost, and enhancing natural beauty in a genuine, thoughtful way. It took a lot of trial and error, and yes, a lot of setbacks, but I never gave up on my vision.
Growing up, things were a little rough. But I wanted more for myself and others. I wanted to build a life that was meaningful, to take my own experiences and turn them into something positive that could help others feel better, look better, and live better.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to honor my own truth and never settle for anything less than what feels right. I’ve had to navigate so many challenges—financial strain, burnout, self-doubt—but my drive to create something meaningful kept me going. I’m proud of the work I do, the journey I’ve taken, and the lives I’ve been able to touch along the way.
I also have to acknowledge the spiritual journey I’ve been on. It’s been such an important part of my growth—learning to trust my intuition, connect with something bigger, and keep moving forward with resilience and authenticity.
I would be nowhere without the incredible creatives and mentors who have guided me along the way, but I also have to thank myself for staying true to what I wanted and pushing through every obstacle. Era Esthetics is more than just a business to me. It’s a reflection of who I am, what I’ve overcome, and what I strive to offer the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here’s a polished version:
⸻
Goodness, I’m a Dallas native, so I could go on forever, honestly.
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d make sure they got a taste of all my favorite spots — the places with killer food, amazing cocktails, good music, and that perfect moody vibe.
We’d probably kick things off with a chill day at the Dallas Museum of Art, then grab lunch next door at Sloane’s Corner. It’s the perfect artsy-meets-classy combo.
A night out in Deep Ellum is a must. We’d see newly painted murals in the art park, hit Brick and Bones for the best fried chicken in town — the perfect dive-bar vibe. Then, we’d catch a show at Three Links. Whatever’s playing, it’s always raw, loud, and a great time.
One of my favorite nights would be dedicated to mezcal. We’d start at Las Almas Rotas — their mezcal selection is next-level. From there, we’d head over to Rayo, my favorite new bar in Dallas. It’s got great cocktails, bites, and the coziest neighborhood bar feel.
At some point, we’d have to swing by The Balcony Club in Lakewood for some old-school jazz. It’s such a classic, cozy spot with a timeless feel you can’t find everywhere.
For something a little fancier, we’d do dinner at Tei-An in the Arts District for their incredible soba noodles and sashimi. Then, slide over to Midnight Rambler — their dimly lit, stylish vibe and cocktails never disappoint.
Another night would be spent exploring the Bishop Arts District. Dinner at Lucia is a must; their handmade pasta is worth every bit of the hype. Afterward, we’d wander over to Revelers Hall and catch some jazz spilling out into the street. That place just feels alive.
And of course, we couldn’t skip AYAHUASCA Cantina for its bold, Latin-inspired dishes and creative mezcal cocktails. Afterward, we’d end the night at Ladylove — killer drinks, great DJs, and the best music selection. The vibe there is just so good.
During the day, we’d slow things down and hang out at Klyde Warren Park, grabbing something from the food trucks and just soaking up the atmosphere. To wrap things up, we’d hit The Lounge Here, that speakeasy near the arboretum — the perfect cozy spot to end a wild week.
I would add some Korean food from Dansungsa or Ari Korean BBQ and a spa day at King Spa in the itinerary somewhere as well.
Dallas is all about finding that mix of grit, creativity, and a little luxury. I know I missed a ton of spots I love, but one week just isn’t enough!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to the many influences that have shaped me along this journey. First and foremost, my mom, who raised me as a single parent, showed me what resilience, compassion, and determination truly look like.
Books have been my mentors when I had none. The countless self-help and philosophy books I’ve devoured over the years have been a guiding light, helping me navigate challenges and inspiring me to keep evolving. They fueled not just my desire to grow professionally, but also my spiritual journey toward understanding myself and the world around me.
I’m also deeply grateful for the friends and mentors I’ve found within the beauty industry. Their wisdom, encouragement, and willingness to share their knowledge have been transformative. They’ve challenged me to aim higher, embrace my creativity, and build something genuine and fulfilling.
Every piece of this journey—whether through childhood lessons, personal growth, or spiritual exploration—has contributed to the person I am today. And I’m so thankful for everyone who has guided, inspired, and supported me along the way.
