Meet Charlotte Colclough | Wedding & Event Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlotte Colclough and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Charlotte, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
This verse is one of my favorites—it encourages me to keep moving forward, even when I feel discouraged, overwhelmed, tired, or frustrated. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I sometimes face moments of doubt, but Jeremiah 29:11 reminds me that while I may not see the full picture, God does. He knows the plans He has for me, and His vision for my life and business is far greater than anything I could imagine for myself.
God’s thoughts toward me are filled with peace, meaning He desires for me to be free from disturbance, worry, and oppressive emotions (as defined by Merriam-Webster). His will is for me to walk in tranquility and harmony as I journey toward my purpose—whether that be physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
As I navigate this path of life and continue building my business, I hold onto the truth that God’s plans for me far exceed where I am now. With each step, as I grow in Christ, He will continue to reveal His purpose for me, leading me exactly where I am meant to be.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At The Colclough Touch Events & Design, we specialize in transforming venue spaces into breathtaking experiences that reflect our clients’ unique personalities. Our goal is to craft designs that feel like an extension of you. We want to get to know your story—how you met your partner, your favorite colors, your style, and what makes you you. This allows us to customize every detail to match your vision, then elevate it to something truly extraordinary! That’s what sets us apart—our designs don’t just impress; they resonate.
When our clients walk through the doors, we want them to say, “Wow! This is so me! I never imagined it could look this grand!” That first-look moment, the pure excitement on their faces—that’s what we live for. It’s an honor to know that our clients trust us to bring their vision to life, allowing them to relax and fully enjoy their special day.
This journey has been anything but easy. Building a brand takes relentless determination, grit, and hustle. We’re still climbing the mountain, making our mark in the wedding and event industry, but with every event, we grow stronger. Owning a business means constantly learning, adapting, and pushing forward. It’s sink or swim—and even without an entrepreneurial background, The Colclough Touch Events & Design is swimming. It may have started as a doggy paddle, but year after year, we’re gaining strength, confidence, and recognition.
But we’re more than just a design company. We’re here to celebrate life’s biggest milestones with you. There’s a saying: “The first time you visit, you’re a guest, but the next time, you’re family.” That’s exactly how we want our clients to feel—like family. Because when you work with The Colclough Touch, you’re not just hiring a designer; you’re gaining a team that truly cares about your moments, your memories, and your magic.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmm… let’s see! Here’s how we’d spend our time:
Things to Do
Epic Family Game Night – One night must be dedicated to our legendary family game night! We take competition very seriously in this house. We play what we like to call “good old-fashioned country games,” and trust me, the energy is unmatched. We do have a couple of notorious cheaters in the mix, but thankfully, they get caught about 85% of the time. Between the laughter, the snacks, and the smack talk, it’s always an unforgettable night.
Pickleball & More at Chicken N Pickle (Grand Prairie) – Pickleball is the main attraction, but this spot has so much more to offer! With additional games, indoor and outdoor dining, and a relaxed, family-friendly vibe, it’s a great place to hang out. Plus, since it’s located in the Epic Center, we can take a peaceful walk around the lake and enjoy the light show at night.
Bill Pickett Rodeo (Seasonal – Fort Worth) – If the timing is right, we have to grab tickets to the Bill Pickett Rodeo. This iconic event honors Black cowboys and cowgirls as they showcase their skills in various rodeo competitions at the Fort Worth Stockyards. It’s an exciting and meaningful experience!
Spa Day – A Must! – No trip is complete without some serious relaxation. We’d indulge in full-body massages and facials at Mokara Spa or soak in the mineral waters at WorldSprings in The Colony for the ultimate self-care experience.
Movie Night at B&B Theatre (Red Oak) – You can’t go wrong with a great movie, and B&B Theatre makes it even better with 4D movie options and ultra-comfy reclining seats. Perfect for kicking back and unwinding after a fun-filled day.
Where We’re Eating
Zaap Kitchen (Dallas – Fitzhugh Ave.) – If you love Lao & Thai food, this spot is a must! Their dishes are made fresh, and I have yet to be disappointed.
Texas BBQ at Ten50 BBQ – You can’t come to Texas and not have some good ol’ Southern-style barbecue! Ten50 BBQ is the perfect place to get that smoky, tender goodness.
Brunchaholics – A Flavor Explosion! – There’s no way I’m letting my BFF leave without experiencing Brunchaholics. This place serves up some good, down-home, Southern cooking that tastes just like you’re Grandma made it—absolutely delicious!
Moxies (Dallas) – A Whole Vibe – This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience! Moxies has great food, a stylish atmosphere, and the perfect energy for a fun night out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have been blessed with so much love and support throughout my entrepreneurial journey. My family and friends have been an incredible source of encouragement in more ways than I can count. However, one of my biggest cheerleaders has undoubtedly been my husband, Elijah Colclough Jr.
I couldn’t do half of what I do without him. He is, without a doubt, my right-hand man—my strength, my prop builder, my advisor (whether I ask for it or not), my maintenance expert, my runner, my driver—the list goes on and on!
So, this shoutout is dedicated to the love of my life—my best friend, my rock, my main squeeze, my husband, my confidant—the one and only King Colclough! Thank you for believing in me, supporting my wild ideas, and taking this journey by my side. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.
