Today we’re excited to be connecting with Matt Ramirez again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Matt, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Hi! For those of you who might not have read my previous interview, my name is Matt Ramirez, “PDBYM” (spelled out each letter) in the photo world! I am an editorial and portrait photographer in the entertainment world currently serving as team photographer for the world famous Radio City Rockettes, Team Photographer for the Emmy nominated Pivot Podcast and in house photographer for Madison Square Garden Ent. I’ve had a pretty cool journey and though I consider myself always on “the journey”, I am blessed and grateful to say it’s been a pretty awesome one thus far.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
Well, since our last conversation I have doubled down on my work, particularly focusing on capturing truly unique “behind the scenes” real candid moments with the talent and artist I’m blessed to be around. I feel a ton of the images we are saturated daily with is so posed and glamorized that it’s easy to forget that these artist are people too. Some of my favorite work is the stuff that looks like it could be an everyday scene, just captured beautifully! So that’s a lot of what I’ve been honing in on and sharpening. I am currently in the midst of starting up my now annual portrait series entitled “The Portrait Series” currently on its sixth volume as well as gearing up for a special year with The Rockettes that I’m pretty excited about.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?
