Meet Madison Broussard | Makeup and Special Effects Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison Broussard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madison, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor to my success is Faith. In your journey, you are going to have setbacks and struggles, but having faith that you will get through them and stay on top of your goal is what differentiates someone just having a goal and someone truly succeeding at their goals in life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Ever since I learned to draw, I’ve always known that I would grow up to be an artist. However, it wasn’t until 2020, my freshman year of high school, that I discovered special effects. I’ve always had a strong love for movies, so being a part of bringing films to life and creating characters and creatures for TV was right up my alley. I began practicing special effects makeup and beauty makeup on myself and family at home during the 2020 lockdown. I started a YouTube Channel called “Madi FX Makeup” which is now my brand!
After graduating high school May 2024, I started beauty school at L Makeup Institute. Being self-taught was fun. but I knew that if I wanted to expand my knowledge and professionalism that I should get my certification. For 4 months, I studied beauty makeup and got into the industry taking clients and building my portfolio and social media. With prayers, hard work, and investments, I worked as a head makeup artist for a haunted house for the first time this October and I even worked with k104 radio station for a zombie movie promotion, Bonvietta clothing brand, as well as many other photographers and models. It has now been 7 months into my professional MUA journey, and I’ve studied beauty, hair styling, bodypainting, and next up is special effects! Beauty school has been very humbling and even tough at times, but I always remind myself of how far I’ve come and stay grateful for all God has blessed me with. As I continue my career and education, I strive to make Madi FX Makeup known for happy clients, quality work, and blockbusting films and photos.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Strike n Reel- Awesome affordable movie theater and arcade.
Magic Cup- If you haven’t already, you HAVE to try boba! I always get my friends to try boba when we hang out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to thank my parents for not only supporting me in my career, but also helping me through the journey to my career. They are so supportive of my education pathway, accomplishments, and always take the time to listen to my elaborate ideas and creative stories. With my mom, my dad, and my brother, I always know I have someone rooting for me.
