We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscilla Rozier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Priscilla, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk is an inherent part of growth and success, and I’ve always approached it with a mix of careful consideration and bold determination. I was a high school teacher for five years, a role that provided stability and a sense of fulfillment. However, I had a persistent passion for aesthetic medicine that I couldn’t ignore. While teaching, I pursued makeup on the side, but my interest in aesthetics grew stronger, and I felt called to pursue it fully.
Many might view the field of aesthetic medicine as saturated, with numerous new nurses aiming to enter it. Despite this, I didn’t let the potential competition deter me. I was lucky to have been mentored by the owner of Bella Med Spa in Dallas, a critical step in navigating this new path.
Recently, I made the significant decision to return to injecting full-time, despite the initial pay cut. This choice was part of the risk I was willing to take. I risked going back to school, dedicating immense effort to shift my career path, and embracing a new, less certain future. The financial and professional sacrifices were significant, but my passion for aesthetic medicine drove me to continue. Taking risks has been pivotal in my career transition. The willingness to step out of my comfort zone and into the unknown has allowed me to pursue what I truly love.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is that no one else is me. I bring a unique blend of past experiences as a makeup artist and educator to my current role, utilizing those skills to be the best injector I can be. My career is the perfect blend of medical knowledge and an artistic, hands-on approach. I get to use both my hands and my brain daily, which is something I truly love.
I’m particularly excited about my growth in this industry. It’s rapidly changing and evolving, and I am eager to evolve along with it. Reaching where I am today professionally hasn’t been easy; it requires immense work and dedication to the craft. While getting filler and toxins can seem like a fun activity, it requires extensive knowledge of facial anatomy and medication dosing to ensure safe delivery.
I want the world to know that I am just a girl with a dream who decided to bet it all on herself and make it happen. This journey has been far from easy. I’ve encountered roadblocks and even had to stop multiple times, but each time I refocused and hit my goals even harder. Consistency is key, and my story is one of resilience, determination, and unwavering belief in my potential. By leveraging my background in makeup artistry and education, I’ve been able to develop a unique perspective and skill set that sets me apart in the field of aesthetic medicine. My journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of continually striving for growth and excellence.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a heartfelt shoutout to Irma, the owner of Bella Med Spa. She took a chance on me, dedicating her time and expertise to mentor and teach me the intricacies of the industry. Her guidance was invaluable, allowing me to gain quick access to the aesthetic medicine field while I was still in nursing school. I am forever grateful for her belief in me and her commitment to my growth.
Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to Jenn aka “Nurse Bae Jenn.” We went to nursing school together, and watching her rise in the industry has been both sensational and inspirational. Her journey has been a beacon of motivation for me. I had always considered going back to school for my Nurse Practitioner degree, but seeing Jenn take that step forward truly inspired me to stop waiting and begin the process for myself.
These individuals have played pivotal roles in my career, and I am immensely thankful for their support, mentorship, and encouragement. Their impact on my journey has been profound, and they deserve significant credit and recognition in my story.
