We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Love-Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caitlin, why did you pursue a creative career?
Growing up my greatest outlets were ones of artistic freedom and expression. It always felt good to my mental, spiritual and emotional growth and wellbeing. After college and starting life in the work force I still felt suppressed and unfulfilled. I always would limit my possibilities in artistry as a career because I had been convinced that it was not a “real career” until I stepped outside of the confides of those expectations and decided to live life on my own terms and in my personal truth to who I was. Once I knew I was an artist, I had no choice but to create and bless and enhance others with my gifts and crafts. Stepping out on faith has blessed myself and my clientele beyond measure. It is still one of the best decisions that I’ve made.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Touch of Love Beauty Brand and Services was a gradual build. I started doing makeup artistry in my door rooms for young women competing in pageants or a not out with friends. Once I knew this was something to pursue it was hard to gain clientele. There are so many makeup artist and I would doubt if I had inverted myself in an “over-saturated” market, however that is not true! Once I discovered that I am uniquely adding value because there is no other artist like me, I knew there were women that would naturally gravitate toward me and my art, and they did! I only want what’s for me and what is for you will find you! There is a tribe of women that are still looking for my artistry as I them. I am grateful to continually have a spirit of growth and learning and knowing that I although I work to perfect my craft I have yet so much to learn and grow. In that space is opportunity for grace and faith. I am excited at what is to come for my brand and my makeup artistry in the Dallas, TX area since located from Indianapolis, IN. I have many clients I look forward to knowing and blessing with my art and my infectious passion and spirit.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friends currently live in Tennessee. I would definitely take to visit my church (One Community-Plano) to Young Adult Bible study, then head to The Star for brunch and later go downtown to ‘The Freeman Cafe’ for live music and more food followed by a visit to the Auboritium. One of my favorite spots on Wednesday is ‘Kiss’ lounge and Uptown. Great crowd and music. I would definitely follow that with margaritas on the patio at Mexican Sugar in Uptown. My friends and I love eating and resting!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so things that I would love to give credit and recognition to!! The first thing that inspires me to continually create is God. My heavenly creator is the ultimate artist and I am blessed to have come from something to beautiful, pure, gracious and creative!
My family blesses my creative inspiration beyond measure. I came from a family where my mother pushes us into excellence and greatness. We did not believe in mediocrity and no matter what you decided to pursue the goals was to be the best and persistent!
My sisters are also in the beauty industry. One of a licensed cosmetologist and the other is a licensed nail technician. We constantly push each other to build our brands on the visions and purpose of creating environments and experiences for women to look and feel their best. Having that support system has pressed me to continually pursuing artistry even when it gets hard or uninspiring.
Lastly, my clients give me the space to allow me to tap into my Divine feminine energy by blessing them with what God blessed me with. Hearing their stories, and them trusting me to assist them in their most memorable times gives me great satisfaction and pride.
