We had the good fortune of connecting with Keundre Russell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keundre, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Making my own money has always been the goal. I was fired for the first time back in 2015 for unjust reasons and I vowed to never give “the man” or any other company the power to shake my world like that again.

What should our readers know about your business?
Currently, I own an Auto Detailing business called Guru Detail. This wasn’t my first though, I’ve had multiple businesses and also multiple failed businesses but I’ve learned from each experience. Stay consistent is one of the most important lessons I’ve learned. Making sure you never stop giving it your all is key because the only true failure in life is giving up. I’m persistent and resilient so no matter what I’ve been through in life I always move forward.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I definitely would hit up Yolk, that’s my spot no matter what I do I always tell people to go there. Torchys would be my next go to!!! I don’t get out in the night life too much because I’m super focused on creating more income but the food is definitely worth it

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve read books like Rich Dad, Poor Dad & Think & Grow Rich. I’ve also been inspired by Nipsey Hussle, Grant Cardone, & Rick Ross. My children and wife have been my motivation as well. Also, my best friend we’ve had each others back since day 1
