We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Wethington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Well I’ve always have been interested in the more creative aspect of life but what really peaked my interest was watching Star Wars growing up and seeing all of the different kinds of makeup and effects. I’ve always had an interest in makeup but never really knew I could do it as a career but when I found out I could I really wanted to pursue it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a makeup artist you get to create so many different things either on the face or the entire body. To me it’s a very fun and beautiful way to share your creativity and passion through this. Everyone has doubts that overcome you in the beginning but once you push through them and truly embrace your creativity and passion for it, it can be such a blessing and amazing experience. I’m always wanting to improve and learn more about my art and am so excited to do so.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well we’d have to go to Sundance square and look at all of the little shops and try anything we’d see there. Then maybe go to free play in Fort Worth and play some arcade games.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shout out goes to all of my friends and family who have supported me through the mess ups, the tear, and good times. I really couldn’t have gotten this far without them.
