We had the good fortune of connecting with Renae Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renae, what do you attribute your success to?
My biggest contributor to my success are my daughters, proving to them that you don’t need the “perfect look” to make it in the modeling industry that being confident in your own skin can take you along way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is not having the fear of what people may say, and what people may think because of how I look and how I dress. In modeling it’s always about having the “right look”. I’ve come to learn that my look is not for everyone my style is not for everyone and I may not be right for everyone. You can’t let the fear of not being able to please everyone get in the way of getting to where you want and where I want to be to be is to show young girls that your look does not matter your look will not make everyone happy but your look has to make you happy. You have to be comfortable in your own skin and that is a hard lesson that I had to learn. I hope that over the years that I am able to show that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love going out to this little area called “Legacy Hall” has multiple restaurants to pick from and has such a good vibe to just hang with friends and have good old conversations.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that had a hand in helping me get to where I am today, but of course, I have to start with my long time and very close friend Chris, who in the very beginning, believed in me more than I believed in myself, and made sure that I knew that I didn’t have to have the “right look” that I was beautiful in my own way, and that when I didn’t get picked for a role that it shouldn’t affect how I saw things because one day I was going to be picked for the right role one day, someone was going to think that my look is the right look. It has always been so fascinating to me in the high hopes that he’s had for me even back when we were just kids and it always made me wonder if someone like that can have high hopes for me then why couldn’t I have the same high hopes for myself? With all these years that has passed it helped me get to where I’ve gotten to until I’ve met my representative Audri who as a woman, gave me confidence that I didn’t even believe exist, opened my eyes to things that I never knew and of course, with that knowledge that she gave me helped me open doors that I didn’t even know, could be opened, and I am truly grateful for these two because I truly do believe that without these two I wouldn’t be where I am today with my success of modeling and maybe I would have but I do honestly believe that this level of confidence wouldn’t have been able to come to me on my own I do believe that maybe I would have been successful still without them, but it possibly could’ve taken me a lot longer than what it did having them. There are no words that I can absolutely say to either one to thank them and to let them know how much I appreciate them, and that they have had such a big hand in my success.
