I think the most important thing I have done as a parent is to live by example. Being a single mom of a daughter at times were tough. Life can definitely throw you a few curve balls. Showing my daughter that even if you get knocked down, you get back up and keep on going as it can only go up from there. My daughter is only 18 months old, but I believe in my heart that the best thing I have done for her as a parent so far is provide her with the best nutrition possible. It has not always been easy but it has always been a top priority in our family to invest in our health now so that we can reap the benefits today as well as much later in life. As a new parent , the most important thing I have done to ensure I have a positive impact on my little one is to show him how to be resilient, have grit, and remain present in every moment. My son has just turned 1 and it is a very delicate balance in between being present as a parent and being focused as a career woman. Your children feel and absorb everything they see you do. I made it a point that my son would always know and feel my presence while seeing me be active creatively. He’s little but I watch him try to do the things I do and his intention on learning.
