We had the good fortune of connecting with Levi-Roy Abongwa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Levi-Roy, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Success in the styling and design industry often stems from having a natural flair for creativity. The ability to think outside the box, envision unique concepts, and create visually captivating designs or styling looks. Having a distinct style and being able to consistently deliver cohesive and visually pleasing designs or styling choices can contribute to success. Now, If I am to pick something which I have and will stand on, is making a conscious decision to always be my authentic self, blocking the negative criticisms and focus on building my Art

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a stylist and designer, there are several aspects that keep me busy professionally. A significant portion of my time is dedicated to brainstorming and developing creative concepts for designs or styling projects. This involves researching trends, exploring new ideas, and translating them into unique and visually appealing concepts. If my primary focus is styling, I stay busy curating looks and coordinating outfits for various projects. This may involve selecting clothing, accessories, and props, as well as organizing fittings and photo shoots. I strive to create cohesive and impactful looks that align with the desired aesthetic and message. Also, working closely with clients is an essential part of my profession. I spend time consulting with them to understand their needs, preferences, and objectives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being a Newbie in the area, I haven’t had the chance to visit many places yet. However, I would say Komodo; a Southeast Asian restaurant. Which is currently my number one favorite restaurant in the area. Yes, you guessed right, I will definitely be taking my friend to Highland Park Village for shopping duh haha. I mean … who doesn’t love a good shopping spree.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A big thank you to God for bringing me this far. Dear God, your little boy is grateful. And of course my amazing parents, especially my mummy bear, who will cross the hottest deserts to make sure I am good and have everything I need. Also, three important women in my life, my Cousin Bih Naomi, Elder Sister Shella Awanchiri and Mentor Joy Kingsley Ibeh for being my biggest cheerleaders. I love you all 💕
