Meet Megan Fortner | Minister on Fire for God

We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Fortner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?

I am from a small rural farm town in Northern Missouri! Everybody knows everybody and they know your business. I was raised in a split home by an alcoholic mom and a dad that tried his best!

There was a lot of physical and metal abuse in my moms home when I was little! When I say physical abuse I’m mean, I’m surprised that I’m alive! There really wasn’t any love or attention!

So, it was that background and upbringing that cause me to want to be a change maker. A bondage breaker! To break generational curses! I wasn’t going to be a product of my upbringing or environment. I was going to be who Christ wants me to be! Now, that is exactly who I am! I am a change maker, bondage breaker, life giver, and sold out for God! I’m a Minister of the Word and I go all over the United Sates bringing the Good News. Changing one life at a time!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am an ordained traveling minister who travels all over the United States. I spread the Gospel on YouTube, podcasts, and Facebook. I spread the Word of Faith everywhere I go!

I’m featured in a best selling book called, “I Cried, He Heard Me!” I’m also being featured in a book called, “Your Next Best You!”

I would have to say that I am most excited about where God is taking me. He gave me an amazing husband, the life I dreamed of, and two amazing boys, Ruger and Kiaus! I have been spreading the Gospel all over the World though radio, zoom calls, Facebook, Youtube, and all podcast platforms! I’m now currently featured in not one, but two books! That is so surreal to me!

I got to where I am today Professionally, because of my Faith mom and dad, Pastors Mark and Trina Hankins! They’ve grown me so much in Faith and the Word that I have to give God and them the credit! Without their love, encouragement, and support I wouldn’t  be where I am today! Also, word of mouth has boosted me professionally! People talk about me and then I’m asked to come speak or be apart of something amazing! However, I MUST give God all the credit! It’s not me…. I’m the vessel for Him!

Next, you ask me, “Was it easy?” I laugh and say NO. It is not always easy. I have had obstacles and bumps in the road all along the way. I have only been in my Ministry for about 2 years and God has blessed me abundantly! Let me tell y’all, the devil is real and he has been attacking me and my family every step of the way. I overcame the obstacles that are put before me by my Faith. I speak the Word of God against the situation and stand on it! God ALWAYS sees us through! When I trust Him… everything else gets small! I have a peace in a crazy storm because the promises are real and they work!

The lessons I’ve learned along the way is, don’t be afraid if you fall down! Get back up and try again. If that doesn’t work… try again! Don’t give up on what God has called you to do because you fell! God is always there to pick us up and dust us off! Go for what’s yours or what your called to. If God told you it’s yours, it’s yours!

I want everyone to know that I lived a horrible life until I was about 30, 31 years old! I came from an alcoholic parent, abuse, rape, being told I wouldn’t amount to nothing! I was told I would be just like my mom! I was worthless! Well, guess what? Here I am! I am more than anyone ever said I would be or thought I could be! I am more than a conqueror in Christ! I am blessed and highly favored and I am successful! To God I owe it all! The day I was sitting on that swing… thinking of ending my life, God showed up and changed me from the inside out! He can and will do the same for you! Your not a lost cause! Stop saying you won’t make it. Stop listening to the negativity of others! God calls you loved, precious, prosperous, more than enough! I mean, He considers you royalty! Walk in it! Don’t give up! Look up! Keep moving forward! Blessing and opportunities awaits you!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would have to say the best place to check out is Mark Hankins Ministries! Touring the property and getting filled with love and God! No place I would rather be! My friends love it too. They always ask me to take them there to visit! I love to eat some Italian. We would got eat us some Italian and some burgers! I love me a good burger place! I would take them to a beautiful beach in the Bahamas! We would put our feet in the sand and enjoy just the fresh air! What I love about my friends is…. We love to go and just enjoy fellowshipping with one another. Drinking coffee or tea and talking about Jesus! No other place we would want to be!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout-out to God first! Then my Husband Dustin and my two boys, Ruger and Kiaus! I want to shout out and highlight my Spiritual mom and dad, Pastors Mark and Trina Hankins! I wouldn’t be where I am without them! My grandma Eurma and my father Warren Sperry!
