Meet Chris Ford | Entrepreneur & Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Ford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Entrepreneurship has been in my blood from birth, both my mother and father are active business owners in their own respected industries. I remember as a child my mother connecting me with a resource to start my very first business selling aqua fish in small aquariums for local vending events in Dallas. Although throughout school I had dreams of being a professional football player, during my junior year as a collegiate athlete (University of Tulsa) I realized my calling was definitely to have several businesses because I had so much passion for ventures beyond sports. I remember one night crying out to God for direction, after not receiving much playing time on the field because I was told in simple form “I needed to focus more on football than anything else”, I came to the realization that football in that space may be coming to a end for me after college. One night I asked God to make entrepreneurship my career and to be able to do it full time, I also asked to have the competitive edge and passion to excel in whatever business he allows me to venture into.

Now Fast forward 10 years later after starting several businesses and teaching high school students media and entrepreneurship I learned that the youth especially, don’t necessarily desire to go into the workforce, they want to do something big and risky and go all out on passion! The biggest problem I found was a high number of both youth and adults who did not know how to take an idea and make it reality. So here we are trying to solve a problem, I realized that the information needed, are the steps and development start a brand or business which is the root of our company today! We call ourselves Werkpreneurs! Our mission is to help people Win, Earn, Recommend, and Kreate more opportunities to advance our lifestyles by solving problems for profit.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My company TEAMWERK LLC is a lifestyle company, we specialize in business development, health & wellness, forex trading and media development. Our community partnerships allows us to build relationships using these program in hopes to provide more tangible opportunities at an affordable cost all while bringing a wealth building structure to the ones that desire to have multiple streams of income. Our most popular program today is the “Werkpreneur” program, it is an online course with development assignments and assessments to follow each module. It has a 4 phase completion model that allows us to help the participant throughout the year gain, fundraising, pitching, brand awareness, vending and an official launch opportunity. We also coupled this program with our Entrepreneurship board game called “Werkpreneur” which provides participants with an interactive perspective of becoming an employee and competitively growing into an investor in a familiar monopoly style format. This game gives both youth and adults a taste of the cash flow quadrants and financial literacy, as you aim to take over all the businesses on the block.

I have seen so many challenges in my journey but the experience of it all has helped mold and shape me into the person I am today. I feel blessed for the opportunity to help people start their entrepreneurial journey and provide recommendations that can help new business owners skip some of the challenges I have faced in the different industries I participate in. As i continue on this path I have found that having a passion plan has helped me calculate risk and create a plan of action that I can use as a guide for chasing my purpose. I truly believe the scripture holds true, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. (Habakkuk 2 verse 2).

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let’s see I would take my guest in no specific order to these spots that me and the wife and crew enjoy. They must consent to it all being recorded because I love to document everything for my web series / vlogs I create for YouTube and social media.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely want to recognize my wife who has been my support and is also an entrepreneur in real estate who inspires me daily and share her love, time, and efforts to making our company what it is today! my parents both my mom and father have instilled a passion for believing in my dreams and going after it. My mom was a intricate part of helping me become who I am today and giving me whatever resources she could get her hands on to make sure which ever direction I wanted to go I have support and potentially resources to help me reach my goal.
