We had the good fortune of connecting with Rodney Wheeler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rodney, what do you attribute your success to?
To me the most important factor behind my success has been my resilience to deal with adversity and never quit. A year before the pandemic begun I found out my mom was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig disease. Only a few months after being diagnosed, she passed away in December 2021 and that by far has been one of the toughest battles I have to deal with on a day to day basis. The morals and values she instilled in me my entire life still continues to fuel me to this day and it’s because of her why I try to put my best foot forward in all in endeavors I choose to participate in. Being an entrepreneur can be extremely difficult at times and sometimes discouraging in the beginning but I believe having tunnel vision on the goals you want to achieve ultimately get you through those tough times.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So in music I feel like what sets me apart from everyone else would be my authenticity. Each song is a representation of things I’ve seen, done, or are things going on around me and I think that resonates with the listeners. I try to give people a step into my reality in every song that I make.

In real estate I feel the think that sets our property management company apart from others in the skin in the game we have. Starting off doing Airbnb with my partners we gained a lot of experience from all aspects of the business. In business there’s always going to be a learning curve and actually going through that process ourselves gives us an advantage because when we’re running the business for clients we know the do‘s and don’t’s so we’re more seasoned and as a result the clients performance is more efficient.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you’re coming to Dallas for a weekend the first stop on the trip has to be True Kitchen and Kocktails downtown! They by far have the best food in the city! I personally love the the lamb chops and lobster Mac and cheese. As far as entertainment goes I definitely recommend going to a Dallas Mavericks game and going to see Luka Doncic. He’s one of the premium players in the NBA.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I would like to give a shout-out to God because without him I’m nothing. Next I would like to give a shout-out to my friends and family for always encouraging and supporting me in everything that I do whether it be music, fashion, or real estate they have always been with me every step of the way.
