We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My love language is definitely food. Food is an art, the plating, the spices & paying close attention to detail. Growing up in an “ingredient” household I found many ways to dupe or substitute ingredients that I wasn’t able to buy to try new dishes and make them into my own. Thanks to the food network show “chopped”. I fell in love with the process as well as hearing different taste perceptions after trying my food. In high school, I would always bring my lunch and many of my classmates and teachers would always tell me I should sell food& open my own restaurant which was very flattering to say the least! Never in a million years did I think that I would be selling food today & for that I am super grateful!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Samantha’s Cuisine is a fusion nothing that I make is traditional there is always a twist! I am most proud of is starting and not looking back. I started out cooking for my loved ones and friends to selling food and I am now offering catering! This was not easy this a one man job I do everything myself. There were nights where I wanted to give up coming home from work to start cooking and prepping food for the next day/day of. The end result made it worth while. As well as the feed back made my heart super happy! Reminding myself why I started and to continue to have fun with it! Mind over matter you can be your worst enemy, doubting yourself worrying if anyone will support your business..especially friends and family. One of the biggest lessons I learned is time management & communication! How to manage your time properly when prepping, cooking & delivering. Just like there are people rooting for you there are others waiting for your downfall. Not everyone will be happy about your success but they cannot stop what God has in store for you! You are enough, clap for yourself, celebrated yourself, keep working hard, keep making mistakes, keep being you!
