We had the good fortune of connecting with Krysta McKim and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Krysta, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
You know, I actually think this is the first time I’ve ever been asked that… When I think of my business, my career, my goal’s, multiple paths come to mind, but they always end with the same thought. That thought being, that whatever my business grows into, it’ll have consistently changed the lives of as many people as possible. Two years ago I started my business with the intent to help bring other’s relief in their day to day life through my Handcrafted Roller Blends. Shortly after I launched my business I started to receive hundreds of reviews, messages, and comments about how much of a difference my creations had actually made in people’s lives. Reading and hearing these things showed me that I was already accomplishing the original goal that I had dreamt of, so what did that mean? That meant to me that I needed to improve, grow, and learn new ways to continue to serve others around me.

When you look at my business logo you’ll see that not only does it say TheHealingHausCo., but above it “Mind Body & Soul”. This is because I strongly believe that not only is our physical health important to our wellbeing, but our mental health as well. Like most, I’ve lived an interesting life that has taught me far beyond my age. I’m a 28 year old cancer survivor, domestic abuse survivor, & recovered addict. I’ve fought and over-come things in my life that at one time, felt like I was alone in. I remember those feelings and although I have been able to heal from the trauma, I know there are so many other’s out there right now feeling the exact same way I once felt. In my 28 years I’ve learned that we never really know what others are going through or how they are feeling. There is one thing that I do know though- a single act of kindness, a single message, a single second in someone’s day can make a massive difference. So when I thought of my goal again, when I thought of my mission, I thought of our Mind, Body, & Soul. I thought of others out there hearing that no matter what they are fighting right now, they needed to know to please stay; because tomorrow needs them. This thought is what lead me to create the clothing addition to my business. I created a line to spread love, hope, & mental health awareness to as many people as possible. So, to answer your question, my end goal is to know that at the end of my career I hopefully helped change at least a few people’s lives.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe that no two business’s are ever alike, because no two people are exactly alike! Everyone does the thing they are best at in their own, unique way. I personally believe that my passion to serve other’s is what helps my business thrive! There are so many “cookie cutter” corporate business’s that don’t adjust in order to fit other’s needs. When I created my business I wanted my clients to always know that I’m here to help serve THEM and their needs. I’m extremely proud of the trust my clients have in me to deliver them the best experience and products. I put my heart and soul into my business and enjoy knowing that my clients can feel that.

I’d like to think of owning my own business as a hike up a beautiful, rocky mountain. It’s an incredible journey, but definitely not always a smooth trail!
You see other small business’s thriving & think to yourself “owning your own business must be so fun and so easy!”.
We’ll let me just say, it is a blast! However, it is not as easy as it looks. My business has had multiple ups & downs, good months, great months, and not so fun months. There’s a lot of hard work, dedication, long hours/nights, tears, and sacrifice that go into running your own business. There are countless hours of doubting yourself and wondering if you’re doing the right thing, making the right moves. You put your heart & soul into your business and hope that you get to watch it thrive. I’ve learned that it’s a lot of trial and error, a lot of learning, adjusting, balance, & constantly evolving. There’s bumps in the road that you won’t anticipate happening, but in the end they always make the foundation of your business stronger.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in a small town in East Texas called Pittsburg, which is part of an area that some call “Piney Woods”. We have some of the most beautiful forest terrain and are extremely close to multiple lakes! I am personally a water baby, so the lake is one of my favorite places to be! When friends and/or family come to visit we love taking them to Los Pinos Winery to eat! I may be biased because my business does Ladies Night every other Thursday at Los Pinos, but they have some of the best food around! We also love going to Anvil Brewing in Pittsburg or driving 20 minutes to Mount Pleasant for Nardello’s and Laura’s Cheescake! When we aren’t indulging in the yummy food around us, we’re on the boat at Lake Bob Sandlin! For anyone that isn’t local and is visiting, camping, fishing, or bringing their RV we definitely recommend Barefoot Bay RV Resort & Marina! They rent out kayaks and paddleboards and have a restaurant and bar with music, pool, karaoke, and so much more!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Woooh, that’s a tough question. I say tough because it’s such an easy question, with a long answer! I’m a firm believer that every single person & experience in our lives has helped us become exactly who we are today and who we will become in the future. The good, the bad, & the downright ugly have all helped me get to where I am & who I am today. I do owe so much of my success to my husband, my parents, & a few of my closest friends as well. There were times, and still are times, that I don’t believe in myself, that I don’t see the things that the people closest to me see. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve though of giving up, walking away from everything, to go back to a 9-5 job all because of my fear and self-doubt. In those moments my husband & those closest to me have helped re-center me. I also, without a doubt, owe so much of my success to my unbelievably supportive clients. The love, support, & encouragement that they show myself and my business brings me to tears. It’s been an incredible 2 years because of them!
Last but not least, I also dedicate my success to two people, that I’d love to meet in person one day, Mel Robbins and Ed Mylett. Their stories, podcasts, and books have not only made a huge difference in my business, but in my life as well!
