We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ $ickk and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is most importantly my consistency. I never gave up on anything I did that got me to where I am now. My team and myself believed in the brand that we have and now more and more people are supporting us everyday. You have to go out there and let the world know that you exist.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my style, my mindset, and my overall aura and spirit. My team and I were able to have two successful independent live concerts. The first one was called “ The One Live Concert” and the other one was called “ Built 2 Last Live Concert”. I always dreamed of doing something like that. I can definitely say that was one of my proudest moments in life. I got to where I am now because of my team and my faith in the process. It was not easy most definitely, I knew this wasn’t going to be something that was going to happen overnight. I had to overcome self doubt and block out all the negativity in my life. It was plenty of nights I prayed about the things I’m doing now and I’m very blessed for it all. I learned to trust in the process and follow my heart with everything do for music. This is just the beginning.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Me personally, I don’t really go out that often but in this situation I can put a plan together. When we go out to eat it’s definitely one spot we are going to go to called Earl’s Kitchen. My people took me there and I’ve been addicted ever since ( shoutout Dee& Kay) but they have best blackened chicken I’ve ever tasted so we would go there for sure. Then one day we might bowling or do some type of game because I’m lowkey competitive so we’d do something like that. It’ll probably be a night where I’m just chilling and relaxing so we would go to this cigar lounge called Up in Smoke that’s my favorite cigar lounge( fun fact I shot a music video in there as well). We could also go to the studio and you can watch the way I work when I put together a song as well. By that time it might be time for you head back home. I told you I don’t do too much lol.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give recognition to My $ickkgang Team Needo , Zanyboi, & K-Bre. I also want to shoutout My momma & twin brother , My women Rose , and all of my friends they pushed me and motivated me from the beginning(Ced,JB,Kaleb,Dame,Dee &Kay). I want shoutout all the artist and fans I have because did nothing but show love and support my whole journey.
