We had the good fortune of connecting with Aqua Sublett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aqua, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am originally from Whitewright, Tx. I moved to Dallas in 2009. Being a small town girl I definitely learned the value in people. Everything was slow paced there and we always saw the same people. It taught me how to learn people and establish genuine bonds. I feel like in the City it’s so fast paced that sometimes that type of connection is lost. I have a much harder time connecting with people from the city because it seems like a lot of them has the ‘right now’ mindset. Friendships are supposed to be instant, fame and fortune is supposed to be instantaneous, etc. I think my slower way have life upbringing definitely made me a genuine person.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Even though I own an online broadcasting network I like to consider myself a creative. It takes a creative eye to produce and organize shows. Our platform is crafted to touch areas of all interests since women have a wide variety of interests. I’m most proud of the authenticity of our brand. We strive to be as transparent and authentic as we can to promote a sense of self worth for those who may struggle.
Our network began as a single show and has grown with the love our sisters to an entire network that is adding new shows and content regularly.
Was it easy? Hell NO! trying to build a brand solely relying on social media is a task. With algorithms and stupid community guidelines that sometimes jump in the way it has definitely been a struggle the last 2 years to get where we are.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned with growing my network is consistency. I expected the followers and support to come immediately because I was reaching for an audience that is usually silenced and told what to do. I quickly learned I had to earn the trust of each woman I reached for and prove that I was genuine in what I was trying to create. Consistency is key!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly I’m a homebody but when I go out I definitely try to find good networking events or its a motorcycle event. I spend alot of time out of town these days so I’m usually asking someone these same questions.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my success thus far to the women in the audience of our network. Without their continuous support we wouldn’t be growing the way that we are. We hope that we can continue to encourage and inspire them to be the most authentic women they can be.
