Hi karter, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I was torn between giving a witty well rehearsed answer to this question..

ya know, going back and forth with different nuisance of answers riddled with playful banter but in all honesty the only truthful response would be something the great prophet Beyonce once said “I think I’ve realized that business and being polite [don’t] match. You can be fair, but me being polite was not me being fair to myself.”

Not be remembered as too nice, too giving… the best at this or that. I want my knowing to be of fairness. Why? Well mostly because like every great Disney movie ,The fairest of them all…. was usually the person (either with the best cheek bones) or was the most misunderstood but also was the one that believed enough in themselves or their cause that powered them. Cheek bones aside, the fairest of all in my perspective looked, acted and executed differently and THAT will be how I will be remembered.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We founded ItsGVIN with one goal in mind: providing a high-quality, smart, and reliable online store. Our passion for excellence has driven us from the beginning, and continues to drive us into the future. We know that every product counts, and strive to make the entire shopping experience as rewarding as possible.

Product: Limited Sustainably Hand picked items (we don’t encourage fast fashion over here so once it’s sold out, baby she’s gone.

Service: community outreach is what drives us, truly. So with that as our light house every collection is link to a cause close to our own human experiences ie – black women prenatal mortality rate, mental health ~ period, sustainability +more.

Events: ain’t no party like a itsgvin party, ok hunty. As we continue to moon walk back or forward into normalcy why not create heightened perfectly crafted spaces to yoga • dance • dine • shop & GVE+

3)Fashion bridging with Philanthropy

Itsgvin requires you to ask why can’t fashion be responsible?
and the answer is YES it can!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well as being an out of townee myself, I’ve been that friend so I started out with one of my favorite spots in: Deep Ellum Ebb & Flow this cute little hidden serpents playhouse is a great little spot to enjoy a potent craft beverage and bask in the ambiance of well thought out fun decor and perfectly portioned food options.
Then the next spot I have in mind would be:
Casablanca in Bishop Arts district is my little Miami getaway whenever I’m feeling a little home sick. besides the bohemian resort style patio area. Did i mention the karaoke rooms in the back for entertainment after dinner and sake juice boxes.
Sometime throughout the week we’d have to go to:
Aunt Irene’s seafood to get a BLACK BOX special of the best crab legs overflowing with perfectly seasoned shrimp + potatoes + sausage combo.
Now id be torn between where to go on Thursday the Palm & Peace Market near the Dallas farmers market. It’s something completely different that’s coming to Dallas bridging eCommerce + experiences.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve never been one to use the term “my person” it always felt so singular and heavy. I mean what if that 1 person lets you down, didn’t come through… had a human moment and was forced to put themselves first over you. Would they still be “your person” ?

And as i went down the list of all the traditional markings of the title I realized my PERSON would be my father. Some would compare him to the British version Olivia Pope’s father from scandal. See my dad’s only requirements were to LOOK SHARP and Give nothing short of real effort in every aspect of life. MY DAD gives support, mentorship the love and encouragement not only in action but also in example. and truly deserves in a crowded or empty room all of the credit and praise.
