We had the good fortune of connecting with Tina Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to start my own business because I was frustrated working at different spas and realizing it was never about treating the skin, it was always about selling the client product and booking their next appointment. I wanted to change how my clients were treated and to really make an impact on their skin and not just selling products I did not believe in.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have been tossing the idea of owning my own Wellness Center for a few years now. Feb 2020 is when I really started to have heart level conversation with myself about going after this dream. I finally made the secession to proceed and the pandemic shut everything down. I took that time to really understand what I wanted my business to look like to make it different and really help people with their skin concerns. I spent 6 months mapping out what that meant and started small. I knew I could not have in person sessions, so I started to consultations over video chat, made customized facial kits and sent them out. I slowly started gaining more clients, I started doing virtual facial parties, and really got to see how sometimes you have to be creative and look outside the box to reach your clients. Once the world opened up again and I started seeing clients in person, I realized people wanted more than just facial treatments. So I started looking into supplements and other ways to help elevate the in person treatments.
Now in 2022 I offer fully customizable skin treatments, supplements, and body sculpting treatments. I will also be offering B12 shots and IV beauty bags in the fall.
I’m biggest take away thus far is to always listen to what my clients need, and if I don’t offer it find a way to get it to them.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I grew up in Northern California so living in DFW is such an amazing experience. I would start the morning in Grapevine,TX with brunch at Main Street Bakery, maybe some wine tasting. Then lunch in Richardson at 1050 BBQ, For dinner by far my favorite place for dinner is Perry’s Steakhouse for the pork chop and a bottle of house Cabernet Sauvignon (shared of course)
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to my clients, my family, and to my friends who have been behind me every step of the way on this journey. I eat, sleep, and breathe Evolution Wellness Center. It truly takes a village.
