We asked some of the city’s leading artists and creatives to tell us about how they decided to pursue an artistic or creative career. We’ve shared some highlights below.
I pursued a career in professional wrestling because it’s my ultimate passion. A few years ago, my love for the wrestling business grew to the point where I knew I had to be involved. I vividly remember attending a massive show at AT&T Stadium and feeling an overwhelming urge to be part of this incredible industry. I always tell people that I stumbled upon furniture design by accident, because I did, but as the years have gone on I’ve begun to understand that what I really enjoy about this particular creative career is getting to participate in the creation of good in the world. Not only do I get to create (hopefully) beautiful objects, but I also get the privilege to provide objects that perform a function for people. Tables are where fellowship happen, chairs provide comfort after a long days work, desks provide a station where others get to participate in more creation. All of these things are good! Read more>>
Creating art always felt like a calling I couldn’t ignore.
Art has always been a way for me to express emotions and stories that words often cannot capture. Over time, I realized how much joy and fulfillment it brought me, not just in the process but in how my work resonates with others. It’s deeply rewarding to create something that inspires introspection, empowerment, and connection, and I wanted to dedicate myself fully to that purpose. I have always been drawn to the timeless significance of photographs, whether old or new. There’s something profound about how a photograph can communicate deep emotion and capture a moment to preserve its legacy. As a photographer with a timeless style, I find that this approach resonates not just in my work, but in many aspects of my life. I am passionate about celebrating family, and being a newborn and family photographer gives me the unique opportunity to honor those connections through my lens.
