We had the good fortune of connecting with Toni Bowman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Toni, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a mom of three sons, I believe the most important thing I’ve done as their parent is to provide them with a blueprint for succeeding in life. While I know that I haven’t given them everything required, I truly believe that they have a great opportunity at being successful because of what my husband and I have both taught them. It is my hope that they continue to follow in the steps we have started them on such as our choice in religious beliefs, our morals and values, and the debt-free lifestyle we choose to live.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a blogger. I believe that the approach and delivery of my blog posts sets me apart from others. I am excited about this adventure that I’m embarking upon. I have been thinking about making this move in my life for a while and finally, after clearing other time-consuming responsibilities, I have made this my top priority. Like most explorations, each one comes with its own challenges. There is always a lot to learn and that depth of learning depends on the goals you have set to reach. Since this is still new, I am constantly learning each and every day. I have invested a lot of my time in reading information from others that have had and continuously have huge success in this industry. I have also purchased online classes, resources and webinars to help me become a better blogger. I would like others to know that I will always be authentic and true no matter the level my brand may reach.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start the beginning of the week on Sunday going to my church, The Potter’s House in Dallas, so they could hear an amazing message from Bishop T.D. Jakes. After service, we’d head to Madea’s in Everman so we can get so full until we couldn’t move, with the best soul food on this side of Heaven! Throughout the week we’d hit up different locations from Dallas to Fort Worth. For Dallas, we’d stop by Fuel City to pick up some tacos and corn in the cup before heading over to hang out at Klyde Warren Park. At some point in the week, we would go shopping in North Dallas and enjoy the best pork chop at Perry’s Steakhouse. In Fort Worth, I would make sure they ate brunch at Social House, so we can enjoy a pitcher of some of the best Mimosa I’ve ever tasted. Another day we’d also have to do brunch at Snooze because the shrimp and grits meal is in a class all by itself! Before they left, I’d make sure to have a fancy dinner at my favorite upscale spot, Eddie V’s. After a great dinner, we’d end the night with a bananas foster. Ooooweee!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my wonderful husband. Because of his dedication to our marriage, union and partnership, he continues to work tirelessly while giving me the opportunity to explore this new venture in my life. His commitment to becoming the sole-income provider assures that we can still reach every financial goal that we have set. No matter what I’m pursuing, in his own way, he’s always my biggest supporter. From creating my websites to being my temporary photographer (which he hates, lol) and also being my video editor, he steps in and supports wherever he can. For every idea I’ve had to a hobby or business I’ve attempted, he will give advice, his honest opinion and then provide help where needed, until I find others willing to jump in and support my vision.
