Pivot or Persevere?

To pivot or to persevere? Or more bluntly – to give up or to not to give up? This is a haunting question, a question that has ramifications far after an answer has been chosen and it’s also a question that almost everyone in our community has had to face at one time or another. How do you know when to give up and when to keep trying?
When the pandemic hit I was afraid for my business. I just knew for sure that sales would drop which would eventually cause me to end my business. I remember getting a call from a friend and she had a plan. We used the downtime during the pandemic to rebrand TeaRoomLashes. At that moment I knew I had to keep going. We have certainly experienced challenges within our business and asked ourselves whether to keep going or give up on our vision. As small business owners in the wedding and event planning industry, for us, this question hits home pretty hard. We’ve seen many businesses in and surrounding our industry forced to close their doors, so we greatly empathize with the decisions made to do so. Through faith, we operate with these values. Passion – We can’t have passion without first having a vision! The decision to keep going or give up must first be decided upon the vision you have for your company, family, relationships, etc. For us, we have a clear vision that is complemented by serving others, designing events, and creating experiences. Adapt – Adapting to the needs of our clients and community, in light of the cultural events and changes we face day to day. The needs of today will differ from the needs of tomorrow. We will not be able to improve, if we cannot adapt within our business and our lives. Legacy – Leaving a positive impact on our children by serving our clients and community with a high level of excellence. Read more>>
Recognizing when to keep going when things aren’t functioning out according to plan is by far the most challenging choices to make. For us to know whether we should give up or keep going is merely built on how much of ourselves we put into said things. If we are in 100% to our original passion giving it blood, sweat, tears, and all. Then we can’t give up, nothing no matter how hard will dismay our goals. Especially after enduring homeless, being scammed, loosing friends and business. We’ve come and grown to far from where we have started to just throw in the towel. As simplistic as this sounds, you’ll “never know how far you can go until you try.” And we consider that means 100% effort 100% of the time, until that passion has been completed to your satisfaction. As artists, we are always evolving, and we are going to change gears every once in a while. We must be okay with adapting to our interchangeable environment. I believe as we keep growing in our artistry and through life, we’ll only get more comfortable to our innersoles. To conclude, we know when we reach a goals, we’ll be able to trust our gut to drive us into our next journey. That is what Tribe Mafia’s motto always stood for anyways. Read more>>
