We had the good fortune of connecting with Zakiyah J. & Kit C. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zakiyah J. & Kit C., what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My best friend (now business partner) Kirtna and I spent the last year deepening our relationship with God like never before. During our journey, we realized that our purpose in life is to inspire, encourage and empower Christian women to flourish with clarity and confidence. We help young, Christian women who are struggling with building their confidence, overcoming limiting beliefs and gaining clarity as they seek to discover their God-given purpose. To address these challenges, we have skillfully combined our passions, knowledge and skills, acquired through professional life coaching training and years of experience mentoring and leading within nonprofit and private-sector organizations, to develop a comprehensive life and career coaching business, called The Flourish Tribe, LLC. Unlike most traditional coaching models, we will provide our clients with a faith-based coaching experience tailored to their needs.
What should our readers know about your business?
The foundation of our business is built on seven key values: faith, diversity, inclusion, honesty, integrity, commitment and passion. We strive to ensure that these values are fully integrated into our work. Our goal is to equip young, Christian women with the essential tools, knowledge and resources needed for increased clarity, confidence and a renewed sense of purpose in this ever-changing world. Community is important to us which is why we have created a very engaged network on Instagram (@theflourishtribe). We committed to making a difference in the lives of young, Christian who need additional encouragement, guidance and support during their journey.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
1. First, we would grab some coffee from the Starbucks Reserve in Plano 2. Then, we would have a relaxing lunch at Tupelo Honey at The Star in Frisco 3. An early afternoon shop and stroll at Legacy West (gotta work off those calories) 4. Finally, a nice dinner at Perry’s Steakhouse in Frisco.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We want to dedicate this shoutout to women and girls of faith all over the world! You can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you.
