We had the good fortune of connecting with Yung Jewelz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yung, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I feel like the most important factor behind the success of myself and my brand is me staying true to myself and what I deliver to my audience. It’s easy to get distracted In my field of entertainment, things get thrown your way and will cause you to change your own narrative. So sticking to the plan has always been helpful for me because it keeps me on track and allows me to grow and have room for more success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
So I’ve been making music all my life. It’s never been as easy as people may seem to believe. I’ve had hiccups along the way, and still continue to keep going. I’ve learned that nothing last forever and pain is only temporary. Being a black woman as well as a lesbian in this field is an obstacle in itself , but it also gives me the motivation and inspiration to tell my story and create the art that I love to give to the people.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout would have to go to Dolla Black. He’s been like a Fairy Godfather! From the beginning of my career he’s always had my best interest at heart. One of the most helpful people I know and doesn’t look for much in return. I’m very grateful to have him in my corner as a mentor and guide throughout this business.
