We had the good fortune of connecting with Willie Harvey Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Willie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was really rooted in 2 things: freedom and impact. Ive always believed in betting on myself, and starting something that would not only give me financial gain but a space to grow and learn without limitations. We are all searching for something and that something for me is ownership and long term growth.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is a reflection of everything I’ve lived through—whether that’s painting, making music, or my journey through football and business. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve been able to create a space where I can fully be myself. I’m not boxed in. I paint to express the raw emotions I’ve carried, I make music to speak on what I’ve seen and felt, and I move through business with the mindset of building legacy.

What sets me apart is that I’m really living what I create. My work comes from real-life experience, from being counted out and coming back stronger, from turning pain into fuel. Nothing about this was handed to me. I had to learn how to navigate setbacks, how to trust my own vision, and how to stay grounded while evolving. Football taught me discipline. Art and music taught me freedom.

At the end of the day, I want people to feel something when they come across my work, whether it’s a painting, a song, or even a message I share. I want them to see growth, passion, and authenticity.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Dallas, I’d make sure they got the full experience—good food, chill vibes, and some spots that really show what the city’s about. We’d start the week off with a morning hike at Cedar Ridge Preserve. It’s the perfect place to clear your head, get active, and tap into nature before diving into the city.

From there, we’re running through all my go-to food spots. Drakes for that cool, upscale steakhouse feel with a throwback vibe. Moxies for great energy, solid drinks, and a good scene. We’d hit The Charlotte one night for a fly lounge vibe and grown atmosphere. Spatch Kitchen is a must—it’s different, flavorful, and definitely a hidden gem. And when we need that soul fix, we’re going straight to Soul Food Bites. Can’t come to Dallas and not tap in with the real southern flavor.

At night, I like to switch it up. One night we’re finding a good speakeasy—Truth & Alibi is a favorite. It’s tucked away, but once you’re in, the vibe is on point. Another night might be more chill, maybe a rooftop lounge like Waterproof or The Henry.

Throughout the week, we’d hit some art galleries, catch live music, maybe a local pop-up or two depending on what’s going on. I’d show them how Dallas really moves—not just the tourist stuff but the culture, the food, the people. A little bit of turn-up, a little bit of reflection. That’s the balance.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I gotta give a big shoutout to my family—my brother Derrick for always being solid and pushing me to level up, my mom Alecia for her unconditional love and sacrifices, and my dad Willie for teaching me the meaning of discipline and consistency and always holding me the highest standard.. And of course, God—none of this would be possible without Him. I also gotta shout out football itself. The game taught me so much about life—grit, patience, leadership, and how to bounce back when things don’t go your way. All of that shaped who I am on and off the field.
