We had the good fortune of connecting with Tia Szemett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tia, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself”- Coco Chanel So often in the beauty industry we, especially as women, are pressured to look a specific way in order to be “beautiful”. I spend my days helping women feel better about their appearances whilst still making sure they retain their own natural beauty. Anti-wrinkle injections and filler shouldn’t significantly change your appearance or make you look like everyone else (unless that is your goal). These services should only enhance your features and give you confidence in your own skin.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The road to becoming an aesthetic injector is not always an easy one. It is an incredibly rewarding career, but highly specialized and requires a deep knowledge of anatomy as well as an artistic eye. It is also a very competitive line of work and because of this, I began in my own business and built my experience hands-on. After awhile, I decided to work for Refine Medical Spa and grow there. It is an amazing, small, office that is growing incredibly fast. We have worked hard to find the right practitioners and staff to make all of our patients feel welcomed and safe. There are two Nurse practitioners on staff, including myself, and we work very closely with a facial plastic surgeon. I strive to give my patients the results they desire without completely erasing individuality.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom has been the most influential person throughout my life. She raised me alone, worked hard every day and set the most amazing example of what a strong woman is and what could be achieved. She is still the most important woman in my life and I couldn’t imagine where I would be without her strength and support.
