We had the good fortune of connecting with Thaliana Cuevas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Thaliana, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Believing in yourself. Some of us are lucky to feel like we can eat the world. For others, humbleness is felt to an exaggerate level and we don’t believe we can eat the world. If I didn’t believe my art is good enough for someone to buy it then I wouldn’t have TC Arte.
We also get influenced by the world around us. It is easy to be content with not having to deal with rejection. That is why we don’t take that leap of faith. But, I believe that when you go out with a pure heart at hand, that faith fruits to something better than you imagined so please, believe in yourself. That is the key to success.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
TC Arte’s mission is to make art accessible to everyone. I believe art connects us to our most human form, feeling. Art is also eternal so what we paint today will remain forever and many civilizations will see it and appreciate it.
A lesson I can smile back on is that not everyone will love you. That is why you can’t let yourself be influenced by this energy. You must love yourself and what you do above anything and anyone.
I want the world to feel. I want the world to smile through my paintings. I want the world to feel nostalgic or intrigued. Feelings make a human a human being. A body with a soul. For that we should be thankful.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I was born and raised in a tropical island so I am strict about the places of “fun” around me. I am definitely not a city girl but I have enjoyed many places around the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Some of them are:
Bishop Arts District – here you can go shopping for treasures while having a delicious fancy bite. They also have a bookstore but my ultimate favorite, Revelers Hall. A warm jazz bar that will give your ears the best music.
Elmer’s Park – located in Mansfield, this trail park has become my safe place. It is beautiful, secret, fun, and dreamy.
Dallas Museum of Art – the first time I arrived to Dallas I discovered this sanctuary. From Picassos to Monets the DMA has it all. It is completely free and it is one of the best museums I’ve seen in the world. Here I feel connected to the world, you can’t miss it.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My ex-boyfriend James who always believed in TC Arte from the beginning and helped me built it.
