Meet Tanner Field | Custom leatherwork and silversmith

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanner Field and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanner, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I feel like to be at the top of anything you have to dedicate your life to it. I think as soon as you become comfortable, you might aswell quit. You have to push the envelope everyday, this is a lifelong journey and the only person you are competing with is yourself. You have to try to get better every single day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I do custom leatherwork and silversmithing. I push myself every single day to be the best artist that I can be. This is a lifelong game I have dedicated my life t0. It hasn’t been easy by any means to get where I am at. Alot of long nights and early mornings, fighting through the burnout of being in the shop sometimes 16/18 hours a day. Im nowhere near where I want to be, but Im gonna keep my head down everyday and work towards that. I have some of the best customers, I couldn’t do it without them. I strive to make lifelong friendships with each and every one of them. So to everyone that has supported me thank you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hands down my favorite thing to do every year is go to the art shows and ranch rodeos. My favorite one that I have gone to was hands down The Cowtown Collection by the Brumbaugh’s Furniture and design. They are just great people and some amazing artist. I also like going to The Western Heritage Classic, I have been going since I was a kid.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends have always been super supportive of the journey. I owe it all to the good lord above and nothing would be possible without him. Im just thankful to be surrounded by a great group of friends that continue to support me.
