Meet Sunisa Ingram | Licensed Massage Therapist & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sunisa Ingram and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sunisa, how do you think about risk?
I believe that risk is often a barrier to reaching one’s full potential, and embracing calculated risks is essential to achieving our dreams. For me, the most significant risk I took was immigrating from Thailand to the United States in 2019. This decision marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and soon after, I entered the massage industry in Texas.

In 2023, I took another major step by opening my first business, Deluxe Thai Massage, in Roanoke, Texas. This was a pivotal moment in my journey, as it allowed me to fulfill my dream of becoming a business owner. Through this venture, I’ve not only grown personally and professionally, but I’ve also had the privilege of sharing the healing art of Thai Massage with my community.

The success of the Roanoke location enabled me to take a further risk in 2024 by opening a second location, Deluxe Thai Massage & Wellness, in Colleyville, Texas. With both businesses, my goal is to continue offering high-quality massage services to clients across the DFW metroplex, while fostering a positive environment for my employees and strengthening my brand.

Each of these risks has been a step toward my ultimate vision of growing a successful, impactful business, and I’m committed to embracing even more opportunities for growth and contribution in the future.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey began in Bangkok, Thailand, where I was born and raised. After earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing and graphic design, I worked in the corporate world before deciding to move to the United States. Upon arriving, I dedicated myself to learning English, knowing that it was key to my success in a new country.

As I continued my journey, I discovered my passion for massage therapy and decided to pursue it. I became a licensed massage therapist and worked hard to refine my skills. Eventually, I set my sights on entrepreneurship and took the leap to open two businesses. Along the way, I also achieved a major personal milestone by becoming an American citizen.

Each step of this journey came with its own set of challenges. From language barriers and adjusting to a new culture to the complexities of starting a business, there were many moments when success felt out of reach. But I learned that perseverance is the key. Success is never immediate, and it’s the relentless pursuit of your dreams that leads to achievement.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that no matter how difficult the path may seem, the work is always worth it if you remain focused on your goals. My advice to anyone facing similar challenges is simple: never lose sight of your dreams and keep pushing forward. Hard work, patience, and consistency are what ultimately lead to success.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I approach each day with the intention of being the best version of myself. Whether it’s for my clients, my employees, or my family, I strive to lead with integrity and care. This mindset has been the foundation of my success and has allowed me to make a meaningful impact on the people and communities I serve.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, the first stop would definitely be to unwind with a relaxing massage at Deluxe Thai Massage in Roanoke or Deluxe Thai Massage & Wellness in Colleyville. It’s the perfect way to shake off the travel fatigue and start the trip on a high note.

Next, we’d hit up some of the best shopping spots in the area—either the Alliance Town Center, Southlake Town Square, or the Galleria. Each of these places has a unique vibe and offers a variety of stores, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

For dinner, I’d take them to Seapot in Plano for some incredible seafood, or we might head over to Truluck’s in Southlake for a more upscale experience. Both spots offer delicious food and a great atmosphere for drinks and conversation.

To cap off the evening, we’d probably find a cozy spot to enjoy cocktails or catch some live music. There’s always something fun happening in the area, from local bars to special events, so we’d definitely make time for some nightlife!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to take a moment to give a special shoutout to my biggest supporter, my husband, Ryan Ingram. A military veteran and contractor with nearly 10 years of service across Afghanistan, Iraq, and Jordan, Ryan truly understands the value of taking risks. His insight and guidance have been invaluable as I navigate the business world here in the U.S.

I’m also incredibly grateful to both of our families—our parents and children—whose tireless efforts were essential in the construction of both businesses and continue to support me in the day-to-day operations.

Additionally, I want to thank all of my friends who have contributed in so many ways—whether through physical labor, spreading the word, or simply showing up to support my business. Your dedication means the world to me, and I couldn’t have made it this far without you.
